demolition crystal plus crippling strike

Bad Paper

First Post
The rogue IMC has a demolition crystal, which allows her to sneak attack constructs. She just picked up the crippling strike special ability which deals Strength damage with each sneak attack. Should I allow her to deal Strength damage to constructs, which are usually immune to ability damage? First hunch is "no," but convince me otherwise.

The crystal only makes undead subject to sneak attacks and critical hits, not anything else. So unless the creature is subject to ability damage for some other reason, crippling strike will have no effect.

(For comparison, imagine an undead creature with DR that the rogue couldn't penetrate. The crystal wouldn't help with that either.)

While demolition crystals (and truedeath) allow the rogue to sneak attack constructs and undead, this does not circumvent the immunity to ability damage (that both types have).
