Describe your NEXT game session!

The PCs in my Eberron game are currently on a lightning rail trip and guarding an aristocrat who is on the same train. They're expecting an assassination attempt, but next session they're going to be jumped by a group of mercenaries led by a couple of members of the Order of the Emerald Claw.

Valenar elves firing flaming arrows. Exploding windows. Talenta halflings landing on the roof. Passengers screaming and diving for cover. Hurled boomerangs, daggers and bowls of hot soup. Repartee and exchanged threats while dueling on dinner tables. Having the "locomotive" be taken over and heading for a crash. Battling flying dinosaurs on the carriage tops.

You get the idea :D

just another day within Eberron...

Hopefully, mine will be the kick off of my Star Wars d20 game. I've never run anything but D&D for nearly 20 years, so this will be interesting.

My players have decided to name their characters by choosing the name of a prescription or over the counter drug as their first name, and an Italian dessert as their last name.

My son will play Aleve Gelato. We also have Pepto Canoli so far.

My players (all in their 30's except my son) need professional help. :)

don't we all.....

My Eberron group takes on the Tomb of Blood Everflowing on Saturday, trying to recover the Mad God's key for their employer at the University.

After that, it's anyones guess.

Well, my next game is not until late Feb or early March as well. We play for a full day so here is what is in store so far.

The group will finally find the secret lair of a wizard society. My group of mainly fighter-types will go against many invisible, flying spell-casters and learn why Spot and Listen skills are useful.

If they survive, they will find a clue to a lost artifact. Of course it is now owned by a powerful necromancer.

On their way to the Necromancer's lair they will be ambushed by assassins (they ticked off a certain guild).

If they survive the Necromancer's lair another "old-enemy" is going to find them. One of the PCs is a half-celestial. His father was slain by an enemy immortal. Now this immortal would rather not see this PC grow in power.

If they survive that, they will find another clue. This will lead them to a hidden temple dedicated to the half-celestial's father. This temple is on a floating island among the clouds, and is now the home of a old dragon.

I've just started plotting this one out, and I'm pretty sure I'll be starting another thread for advice on this once I've panned a few more things out.

In my campaign, my players have recently accidentally created an apparently uncontrolled undead horror that is nigh-undefeatable. It's been going around, slaughtering nightly and adding the fallen to its strength. It's also, incidentally, hunting the PCs. Fortunately, the PCs are on horseback and can thus travel faster than the persuer, but the undead don't have to sleep, they just keep going...

The people of one town believe that the undead horror (which they've never actually seen) is actually a plague, and have quarenteened the town. Unfortunately, this town is the ONLY route between two other major cities, and not being able to travel between the two has been VERY bad for local buisness.

Said local buisnesses have been hiring adventurers for EXHORBANENT prices to smuggle goods through. The players have started taking advantage of this. All of them are either Nuetral XXX or Lawful Evil, so they've been milking it, deliberately leading the undead horror to that town so it'll make some more kills, keeping the quaranteen up so that they can earn even more money. They do believe that the Pelorians sent from the Kingdom's capital will be able to kill the undead monstrosity when they arrive, so most of them don't see this as TOTALLY evil. I mean, THEY can't kill the thing they created, so they may as well take advantage of the situation, right? Grab the bull by the horns?

Next session, the Pelorians will arrive, and will be devoured by the monster. And each round trip the players make for more money, the closer the monster gets to devouring THEM. And the longer they wait, the stronger it gets. They're ALREADY out of their league... and things are just getting worse.

In the meantime, an evil cult is busy collecting artifacts that will be used to destroy the world. They know about this, and SHOULD be trying to stop them... indeed, their patron has ORDERED them to do so, but first they want to make a quick buck.

Lets See we are playing the big drow modual -
and next week 3 (of 5) PC's get to break into the crypt of a vamipre priestess and find out which of the following actually happened last week ..
1) our 12th lvl thief is now a vamipre, and working for the priestess
2) our thief killed the priestess, but is now a vampire himself.
3) both the priestess and our friend are dead, and we can walk over the ex-thralls and bring the thief back to life.
4) he is still alive, but trapped in the crypt (as players we know for sure this is not true, but all the rest are considered possible)
5) he is still alive but dominated
my plan
step 1 cast divination
step 2 assuming 1 or 2 of the above,
death ward & prot evil all remaining players
exit rope trick very carefully
use planar allay for trumpet archeron.

Me DMing: Third session of WLD. PCs will kill some stuff - possibly including each other - take some punishment and wander aimlessly towards third level.

Me playing: Renato Glorius Tiberius, swordsman extroadinaire will take another beating in a campaign based on the confrontation setting (ww.confrontation.fr).

Bigwilly

In my next session, the party will continue to explore the caves below Galath's Roost, fight giant ants, release a prisoner or two who will join the party, and perhaps also find an elven tomb. It is possible they will get to start storming a fortress as well.
