That's what I assumed, until my brain went into a loop picking apart the verbiage. Thanks!
No problem. In the meantime, if you want to play a race that is stronger than almost any LA +1 race but is somehow still LA +0, Warforged are allowed

Actually I was thinking of bumping my hobgoblin ranger for a human rogue or cleric. I know RA thinks the Dragonheir is underpowered, but it seemed to fit w/my rogue concept. I thought I might prepare to take that route. The cleric would go mystic theurge. I was going to contemplate them a bit more on this vacation as my kids play on the beach & hopefully I'll have one (or more) all fleshed out by the time I return.

By the way, I'd love to play Forge of Fury, so if it doesn't get started soon, or if I can join a bit late, save me a place! I might use whichever of my PCs ideas best rounds out the group.
The Dragonmarked Heir class buffs up the Dragonmarks fairly well. Also, there are a few situations where a spell like ability is more useful than a spell (Silence, in armor, etc).

I know I'm going to have a marked character eventualy. I'd potentialy pondered 2, but not sure.

Dragonmark Heir is debatable--you waste 5 levels in a medium BAB class with mediocre skill advancement and no magic, plus you have to buy Favored in House, but in exchange, you get the rest of the Dragonmark feats for free and can use a few more of them. The only class that would really even consider it would probably be a social Rogue who doesn't mind losing out on skill points. That said, for a social rogue who wasn't going to Sneak Attack anyway, the flavour combined with the few neat tricks can't be beat!

I've always thought it works fairly well for a Fighter, though you loose out on BAB, you get access to skills you might have wanted but weren't allowed to by the core class, and it gives you something to do after 4th level ;).

It also increases the caster level of your dragonmarks, which can be invaluable.

It is a pretty big loss for a Fighter, though--you take the hit right when you need that BAB most to muster a second iterative attack. Barbarian would be a better choice or even 2 levels in Paladin if you actually had the Charisma. Admittedly, the caster level on the marks is indeed invaluable--they are usually too low of caster level to be relevant.

By the way, I wish the tavern could just be a place for characters to roleplay instead of having the agenda of being some kind of nonsensical free haven for those seeking work like the RDI in LEW. I always found the RDI to be one of the most ridiculous things about LEW, and it actually makes it harder to use a variety of hooks. We can use a newspaper or bulletin board for help wanted ads and just make the tavern a place to RP between adventures that isn't so intrinsically connected. Come on, let's mix it up a bit? Eberron has all kinds of cool believable ways to reach a lot of people to look for a job--why not use them?

The tavern is far from perfect. Perhaps instead of charging for employment, he simply asks for those to tell of their travels, so it is ultimately still a hangout for adventurers, and hooks requiring it are not required. I put it up to have something for us, and I liked Brews and his famous food and drink ;)

Or, another option is the magical bulliten board that people pay to have help wanted things posted that appear throuout the city.

You also suggested a newspaper, perhaps you sell space for things there.

Also, simply inspiring people to take a trip, where the hook happens, isn't too bad. There needs to be some compromise.

I like this better. Perhaps Brews is an ex-adventurer himself who once had a different name, and he enjoys hearing stories from the new blood. I wanted to post my concerns ASAP, however, so that we don't get mired too deep to change.

Right, the newspaper sells space for adventurer-wanted ads. By 'there' I assume you mean in the newspaper, right?

The Wayfairer's Guild has such a paper, which is why I suggested it. I can easily see something in the special "Adventurer's Section" of the Sharn Inquisitive or the Korrenberg Chronicles.
