We have officially disallowed the subraces (except in a few exceptions), I believe, so that would be no. The gnomes in Eberron are the coolest gnomes I've ever seen, but they have a different flavour than desert.

You mean these guys? If so, then no. While they are posted on (at least) two SRD sites, these variants are not a portion of the SRD - they are Open Content from Unearthed Arcana, which isn't part of the approved books - just a few parts of it.

(Likewise, stuff like Gestalt characters are not allowed)

I'll be submitting one to the judges tomorrow evening, and hopefully by next week I'll be running it. It'll be my first shot at running PBP though, so I make no promises as to its quality.

I'd like to run an Eberron game, too, but only after one of my EN World games wraps up. They're making pretty good progress in Clash of Earth and Sea at the moment, but it will still take a bit...
