This is a bit embarassing but...

I'd like to get a character submission in but can someone guide me through the process? There seems to be a specific format you require (and I can understand why for ease of review) but how to I find it? Once found and my info entered, do I then post it to the character thread or send it to someone for review?

I also noticed a lot of 'extra' stuff on other peoples' sheets. I'm guessing these may be additonal catagories GMs use to keep track of your charcter in the greater scheme of things?

In general can someone give the newbie a rundown on how this thing works and how to get started?

Much appreciated.

Post and then send for a review is preferable to me, but that's not the only way.

Check out the character thread in the Rogues gallery for details on creation and submition.

The extra stuff is for tracking later. I filled in my advancement tracker for level 1, particularly because I used a racial sub level (which are optional at every level they happen at btw), and partialy to show how it's done.

33!

Ferrix thats it exactly. With even point buy, 4th level is usually nothing special. If you force people to have an odd stat, then you allow for those who would like to see something happen at 4th level. It is also definitely better to have an odd point buy.

For instance:
14, 14, 14, 14, 14, 10 = +10 stat bonus w/ 32 pb
vs
14, 14, 14, 14, 14, 11 = +10 stat bonus w/ 33 pb

at 1st - 3rd these two characters are equal.
from 4th - 7th the second is better by +1 stat bonus.
8th-11th = same
12-15 - second is better
16-19 = same
20 - second is better
so for 7/20 levels you have a higher stat mod if you started with an odd point buy.

Now now, I took that from your post (236) and modified it ;)

Yeah, but that was taken from your post before and modified. :D

@Erekose: You're working on the assumption that the player is putting the 11 into something he intends to increase. In my experience, if the stat is important, you're not going to want to start with a +0 Stat Mod. :|

yay for 33. So we've got what a fighter, a barbarian, 2 rangers, a druid, and an artificer eh? wonder who will break down and create the first cleric. I've got an adventure in the pipes (as mentioned above) so once we get approved characters into an inn/tavern of some sort, I'll start it up. I could start now, but I'll give it a day or two for the whole thing to get going (and so I can read it again...)

I would've made a Psion, but I liked Bront's shifter idea, and Psions don't exactly work well with Shifters.

Cleric? Who needs a cleric! I'm perfectly fine having an artificer around, my friend.

Meatbags :)

Actually your character was almost exactly the stats that I was looking to put together. Ever since I read through RoE I've wanted to play a shifter druid. Still pondering what my 1st character will be. Thinking of popping open MM3 to see if there is anything that I can do at 1st level that would be interesting.
