When did it change from being about a group of adventurers fighting for loot and leveling up? Thats how the 1986 edition was played, and thats how we play the current edition. The rules have changed for the better IMO, but the average adventurers day is still pretty much the same.
adventurers didn't need to roll a skill check to take a dump in 1986. ;)

I so need a “My hat of D02 know no limit” tattoo.

the tattoo on my backside is covered in hair and stretched all out of porportion...

be careful what you do in your youth. it may look comical or hideous in your older age...

Now we can all relive the good times:

My hate of d02 know no limit

The funniest thing about the original post was that the poster (A Silent Wail) went back and edited "hat" to "hate," but didn't catch "d02" or "know." :)

damn, i should be on those forums!!! every time you guys point me at them, there some hilarious comment down the line...
i'm laughing so hard... :)

so, palladium is D&D, too. and rifts. and castles and crusades. and (no levelling, but with adding careers) warhammer, both editions.

if i was the wotc lawyer, i would be rubbing my hands for the money that the sues will get them...

Bravo, dude. For that, I am going to photocopy the entire white box four times over and start my own OD&D group.

Seriously.

I see you're again not joking about D&D :)

i'm dead serious. you didn't have to roll a skill check back in 1986 for some things.

i had to in 2000 to light a damn campfire in one campaign i was in...

i said and quote "Are you frickin' serious?"

Regrettably this thread has reached the point where it has to be closed.

This is thanks largely to posters stirring up arguments on page 4. Not very amusing. It has managed to turn an interesting thread into a train wreck. If I'd had managed to see them earlier (Wingsandsword I'm looking at you, for instance) I would have edited them out.

I asked quite nicely that you guys stick to the topic, but no, for some reason that was too difficult.

Thread closed.
