did anyone else see the Cartoon Network Star Wars short?

I went in thinking it would be all the shorts at one shot. In that I was disappointed. However, since they're dragging it out, they're building up the hype, which does make marketing sense. I'll be sitting in front of my TV on Monday to watch chapter 2, and then find out when chapter 3 will show.

I couldn't find the times for the other chapters. But, as chapters 1 and 2 are slated for 8PM EST, I'm assuming the others are as well.

The last 10 chapters won't hit until next spring.

What was everyone's opinion of the first chapter? My girlfriend thought it was lame, which is kind of funny since she's a bigger Star Wars fan than I am. One of my friends who watched it called it "short attention span theater". I thought it was OK, but too short for my tastes. I would rather see the whole thing in one hour-long sitting.

EDIT:

Oh yeah, one more thing. The "preview" of the next chapter made me laugh. Zap zap zap - fade out. I guess when the whole show is only 3 minutes long, you can't expect a very long preview, but still, that was kind of silly.

When my wife told me about the shorts (she read it in Friday's paper), I said I wanted them on DVD. She rolled her eyes at me and walked away. She's not a gamer and not into the same types of movies I am...oh well.

I didn't think it was bad, I just wished it hadn't been so short.

It looked interesting. Granted it'll be nice to see all 20 of the shorts together.

I saw it, it was pretty ok.

It looks like a lot of detail went into making it, esp. considering it's animated by Tartovski(sic?), ya know-the guy that does Samurai Jack!

The characters seemed pretty 'spot on' compared to the actors/movies.
Although the President/Emporer was kind of...umm..ya know -"Fruity looking."
(No offense! btw)

I thought Anakin's ship was kind of cool, the other ships lloed cool too, imo.

I was definately getting a Samurai Jack vibe off the show, with the way the jedi fought, but that could just be because I know it was the same guy. But hey that is likely why they picked him is because he can do Big Action!


I agree though that 3 minutes (?!) is too short. even for a short. Maybe at least 5 would have been better~
But I really hope that later they show the entire thing all at once or yeah put it out on dvd!

Oh and when I saw they were going to have a "preview" for the next epi. I thought that was funny since most previews are as long as the enire short was...hahaha!! so it was what, a 3 second preview? hehe!
