I actually love these guys, although I remember Erik Mona (maybe James Jacobs...) specifically mentioning them as an ol' school critter who wasn't coming back (in a thread on the Paizo boards about the froghemoth).

what thread was that in? I didn't see it.

thanks

Mike

Nice to know that some of the Tome of Horrors conversions will be safe. Personally, I'm surprised to see flinds in an official 3e product, after a 2e Sage Advice column (remember that Skip Williams is one of the architects of 3e) said that the real way to pronounce flind was "gnoll".

After reading the given thread, I guess we can leave stwingers off any fey article :(

Ah, oh well about that.

Regime changes bring about different attitudes, though.

Overall, I like the combo of Mona, Jacobs, and the rest, because the seem to appreciate the classics. :) sure, they may not dig dire corbies, but they do appreciate the ones they consider worthy at least. The "Monsters of the Mind" article would never have flown at the beginning of 3E, as the chief editor at the time told me very clearly that they were not interested in conversions of old material. So things can and do change over time!
