Disappointing Fantastic Four movie news

Well I was hoping Dr. Doom would be played by Chevy Chase, but I guess Tim Robbins might work. It will only be a Dream Team if they also cast Kraven from Underworld as Reed Richards, Fran Drescher as Invisible Woman, Horatio Sanz as Johnny Storm, and Warwick Davis as Galactus.

EDIT: Oh almost forgot, Rodney Dangerfield as She-Hulk.

I just spit on my screen. Funny stuff. :D

I was always hoping that Jeremy Irons would play the part.

Well, we know that Jeremy Irons can play over-the-top evil.

But wasn't Profion... well, you know, a little too over-the-top evil even for a Marvel supervillain? :)

Although, if he could reduce his slight Irish accent, Gabriel Byrne would also make a fantastic Dr. Doom.

Jeremy Irons and Gabriel Byrne are two of my favourite actors, and John Malkovich is right up there with them.

I couldn't believe it when I first heard about The Man in the Iron Mask.

Irons. Malkovich. Byrne. Depardieu. Anne Parillaud. A dream cast!

... oh, and Leonardo diCaprio in two roles.

Gah!

I think Tim Robbins could make an excellent Doctor Doom...

As for The director, anyone but Roger Corman... :D

The problem with Robbins as Doom, IMNSO, is the voice. Sure, he can look the part when out of the armor, and anyone can wear a metal mask. But Doom (at least post-armor) has to sound menacing, and Robbins doesn't have a menacing voice.

Now if they want to go the Darth Vader route, and have someone else do the voice in the armor, with Robbins simply playing the part until it reaches that point, I could probably get behind that.

If he was 10 years younger, though, I'd say Jurgen Prochnow was perfect for the part, in and out of armor.

Jurgen Prochnow, ten years younger...

Doesn't that make Tcheky Karyo?

You know, if he can do a vaguely Eastern European accent, that's really not a bad idea... :D

Hey, I wasn't joking... I'm all for getting Tcheky Karyo in more movies.

As for the accent - he's French, right? His accent is not-American... how many moviegoers are going to make any finer distinction than that? :)
