I resent that! They may be gruff, but deep down, dwarfs are just like the rest of us.

Hater! *sob*
You, good sir, are mistaken.

It is my hate of mildly intelligent ogres that knows no limit.

Wait, if the ogres are mildly intelligent, but more intelligent than the dwarves, what does that say about dwarven intelligence?

I have a question:

How do you handle passing time in the tavern. If possible, I would like perhaps a few weeks to go by so that Felix's wounds can heal in time for a potential adventure. However, I'm not sure how to go about facilitating this.

I also have a question. What are the current rulings on ECL characters? I'd like to play a planetouched (Aasimar) paladin, but I'm not sure if we're allowing that yet? I'd just like to know.

For the time passed in the tavern, enough time can pass for you to completely rest up. You can also craft items, using some degree of craft points, or do any sort of other time-taking activities in between adventures. There is plenty of "magic wand waving" involved, but it keeps things simpler.

For an ECL character, we allow you to trade out a higher level character for a lower level character with an ECL. The specifics escape my mind at the moment, but you lose one or two levels in the process depending on how it's done (such as after a character is killed or retired).

The thread with the specific proposal is here. Looking over it... it doesn't look like it's been officially approved yet. So LEW has agreed informally, in a poll, to the general principle of retirement-with-levels-tradeoff, but the specifics haven't been set. Am I right, or did I miss a relevant thread?

I read that post, it was mostly an argument about good vs. evil rather than character death. Guess they got a bit off topic? But I picked up from the first entry that when a character dies/retires, subtract 2 from his current level, and that's your new level cap. Doesn't much matter, since I think I've seen... maybe one character that's level 4, and all the others are 3, 2, and 1.

New question: I submitted a new character to the Character Thread. While waiting for confirmation, would it be acceptable to play him in the Tavern?

Right... so it takes at least a fourth level character retiring to be able to introduce a +1 LA character.

That's common practice. Just wait for approval before joining an adventure, or you won't earn any XP.

change of ENworld URLs

As some have noticed (e.g. in the tavern thread), there are now a lot of dead links on ENworld. With the server change the form of the URLs has also changed -- the directory /forums/ seems to have been eliminated, so URLs should no longer include that. That means these boards are full of dead links. I recommend everyone edit their signatures accordingly (just remove the word "forums", and one of the surrounding slashes), as well as links in posts which are likely to be frequently referenced.
