Dispel Magic and Spell Turning

What happens when a Dispel Magic is cast on someone with Spell Turning up? Does the Dispel try to remove the Spell Turning and if it fails it bounces, just bounces because it was turned or something else?

During the game last night I ruled it was turned before it had a chance to effect the Turning spell but I'm not sure that was right.

I would also think so... the spell's target is changed, and that must happen before the spell can take effect.

If you target the creature, spell turning kicks in (as it does for any other spell targeting a creature).

If you target the spell spell turning directly (thus, having some idea it is already in place), spell turning doesn't kick in (spell turning is only effective on spells targeting the creature).

If you target an area with dispel, spell turning also does not kick in (see above). For the same reason, spell turning is helpless against disjunction (it target's an area).

Also note that Spell Turning is useless against Dispelling Touch (PHB II) or similar spells, as Spell Turning specifically say that "Spell Turning also fails to stop touch range spells."
