Divine Grace Question

"Bonus: A positive modifier to a die roll."
I hate that definition. Its obviously incorrect. You can have bonuses to ability scores, your speed, jumping distance, etc., none of which are die rolls. Silly PHB glossary.

So if there were a Prestige Class that added your Charisma modifier (if positive) as a bonus to your Reflex saves, would you let that stack with a Paladin's Divine Grace to add double the Charisma bonus?

No.

But that doesn't mean it isn't allowed by the rules.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but does the bonus to saving throws a paladin gets from Divine Grace stack with standard ability modifiers to saves? I didn't see anything in the PHB (1st printing), Errata, or FAQ regarding this, so any help would be appreciated.

The answer is "of course". It doesn't appear in the FAQ or errata because it's obvious. Divine Grace would not be a useful ability if that merely replaced the Con, Dex and Wis bonus to your three saves by a unified Cha bonus ("one stat to rule them all").

That's like a Monk's Wis bonus to AC -- it stacks with the Dex bonus to AC. It would also stack with a mystic wanderer's Cha bonus to AC if your monk took that prestige class (ex-monks don't lose abilities).

I think the general rule is that two bonuses from the same source don't stack with one another, even if they're unnamed. This prevents a wizard from unloading a wand of jump onto a PC and thereby granting them a +1500 bonus to jump checks.

Similarly, if two classes granted the divine grace ability, you wouldn't apply it twice.

Have you played Morrowind ? There's a little scene just north of Seyda Neen, the stating town, that shows it isn't a good idea to use "fortify acrobatics +1000 points" magic, at least when you don't have a slowfall effect running...
