Divine Versions of Arcane Spells

Hi guys. I wonder if you can help me with a spell research situation.

My character is a Cleric5/Sorcerer1 of Mystra. He is planning on progressing exclusively as a cleric from here on out. On his next feat, he might be taking Spell Focus: Enchantment since he is making a lot of use from that school of spells.

Someday in the distant future, when he is high enough level to cast them, he is thinking of researching divine versions of Confusion and Hold Monster, both enchantments. I have not mentioned this idea to my DM yet since it's so far off.

If you guys were my DM, would you allow it? If so, what level would you make the divine versions of these spells and would you change them in any way from the arcane versions? (Just trying to prepare myself for what to expect when my cleric starts praying for these new spells.)

Thanks for any input, good or bad!

Do you have the Spell domain? There are the spells Anyspell and Greater Anyspell that'll allow you to cast arcane spells in the domain slots.

Why, yes I do! Excellent observation. That's aweseome!

However, is Greater Anyspell high enough level for Hold Monster? Memory tells me no, but not sure.

I think it's 6th level... so it can hold up to a 5th level arcane spell.... I think... from memory ya know... and it ain't what it used to be. ;)

Right. That's what I remember too. But Hold Monster is 6th level, so it won't work. Which brings me back to my original question for Hold Monster only then.

Anyone have suggestions for a divine Hold Monster?

Hold Monster is a 5th level Wiz. spell.
Hold Monster
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Brd 4, Law 6, Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V, S, M/DF
Target: One living creature
As hold person, except this spell holds any living creature who fails its Will save.

You could make hold monster 5th level for cleric if the divine version was a bit worse then arcane.
Mystra is LG so spell might work diferent way depending on target's alignment. Or spell might work only on evil monsters.
Lawfull or Good align. monsters might be not held but slowed down.
Duration might be half of arcane version.

If you put if 1 level higher might work same as hold monster.
If it was 2 level higher might work on undeads as well and would make them unconsious rather then held.
