DM Needs Help with Rules Lawyer

I believe the reasoning why Obscuring Mist will give a concealment bonus vs Blindsight is that your Blindsight ability allows you to see the mist just fine... so it still gets in the way of seeing your target.

Echolocation goes right through it. I think most types of blindsight do. The general form I think ignors it as well. Is there errata or FAQ on this?

It you want a twisted creature let me suggest a personal favorite, the Half-Celestial Half-Elemental (fire) Half-Golem (clay failed save) Troll [CR 11].

I sincerely hope that's a joke.

He does not see through hiding or etheral. Given he probably has a good spot check, go with etheral.

Blindsight gets through invis, so skip that. Etheral is not detectable. Phase spiders, etheral filcher, and etheral maurauder would all be a decent choice for undectecable.

The key is hide skill, etheral, or invis out of range of his blindsight.

Loki, I hope you take this as constructive criticism, but this is one of the mistakes (like 'rouge') that makes me cringe.

This isn't directly aimed at you, just at the spelling mistake in general, so please don't take offence...

IT'S BLOODY 'ETHEREAL'!

Thank you for your time.

Yes it is sort of a joke. I don't recomend that anyone actually use that monster. I just like to threaten my players with it when they start powergaming too much. I had to actually use it once but only once.

Thank heavens, because as you know, three halves and a whole do not make a whole!

I don't have MotP, so I'm not sure about the Half-Elemental template.

But Half-Golem is not the result of breeding, so it's perfectly possible to have a Half-Celestial Troll with the Half-Golem template.

If there's a ritual or somesuch that can apply the Half-Elemental template to something, with no breeding involved, then the whole monster would work too.

Formians and Axomatic creatures (MotP) have a neat ability where one of them isn't flat-footed or flanked unless they all are.
