DM'ing my first adventure by myself!

I already have some of the initial dialog set up for right after the first fight.

Be careful not to paint yourself into a plot corner. I personally find it best to make a short list of simple ideas I want to share at certain points, depending on the outcome of encounters and the decisions and direction of the PCs, then I decide in the moment if it is appropriate to share them based on the actual circumstances. Too often it is easy to get caught up in predicting what the PCs will do and finding the options you suspected and the prep work done doesn't fit what happens at the table, then it can appear that the PCs are being shoehorned or railroaded. Try to design in a way that leaves as many options to you as possible.

Well its just the dialog of the beginning fight I am working out, It's just a few lines nothing to intense. BTW one of my friends wants to play a human cleric, but wants to dual wield special shields that are bladed you he can attack with them, any help here?

You could treat them as Light or Heavy Spiked Shields but make them slashing instead of piercing (if I take your meaning) and maybe give an additional plus one to AC for the added coverge. Keep an eye on his encumbrance and make sure he knows that his hands will not be easily free for casting.

Thanks mark will do, I'll make sure he takes that into consideration when choosing his spells. Also couldn't he just drop one or both of the shields if he needed to for one round?
