DnD 3.5 - Valley of the Dead

I'd say fast healing below 10 is not really good in actual combat past mid-levels. Once one can dish out 60-100 damage per round even without magic 2 hp become inconsequential.

Normally, for out of combat healing, people (read: clerics) will use the Vigor line of spells from SC or wands of Vigor. I even had Ferviel cast it in hopes for HM to prepare it :)

On the other hand Turn Undead is useless unless it's optimized. Even then it's not great unless you have the Greater version from the Sun domain. The best use for Turn Undead (except for mowing down legions of low-hd undead) is powering Metamagicked spells via Divine Metamagic (a feat from Complete Divine). Powering Persist Spell in particular to get 24hr duration on good defensive or utility spells.

So either get the fast healing or use Turn attempts for divine metamagic is my advice.

I'm not sure of Alevyth will have sufficient spellcasting at Paladin level 4 to really get good use out of Divine Metamagic... so I'd probably be better served by getting Fast Healing, then the Turning, and whatnot later... I think. Fast healing 2 won't have a huge effect in combat situations, but outside combat situations it will reduce party resources needing to be spent on him, which is small but valuable. My low Turning level probably won't be so useful. Paladin doesn't seem like a very good choice for further progression, except to fulfill the requirement to hit Ruby Knight Vindicator(Turning), which could also be achieved by a level in Cleric. Whether one option is better than another, I don't know.

Well i know Latham has gold, but ethandrew isn't around atm. If no one else has any differing plans i can skip ahead. Just let me know what your characters are doing for these several hours.

Sorry to say ML but I need to drop a few things that aren't going anywhere here in EnWorld and this is one of them.

Good Luck with this game though.

Upated, this is when the VOTD truly starts to get to where i've been planning for a year now.

HM: Please reconsider. This game does not take much of your time, in fact if i were running non-stop combat requring you to post every day it would be much more cumbersome. You've been around for a year, and things will be interesting I guarantee. Sticking around won't cost you much - the occasional post now ant then, and roleplaying should you like it.

You would miss out on the story though if you leave, and I'd be disappointed to see you go. Why do you think this is going nowhere? I for a fact, know what you will find in the Valley and this adventure will reach level 20 before it is over. Another level up is due soon as i measure progress in real life time and 1 year per level is too slow for me.

Yes i know i'm erratic in the updates - sometimes i'm on everyday for a week, sometimes i disappear for a week. But if you can deal with that you won't see other problems here (like DM burnout).

Also, should i abandon Lora from Off to War? Whenever i'm away I'm not able to post not only in VOTD but there as well. If you are disappointed with this it should reflect on her as well i guess?

It seemed to me the game was losing players and with the slow updates I find it hard to keep up with what my character is "about" like this update with Jill - it seems to me Kye called her something other than Jill (who I thought was the older woman first) but I will need to go back through the old IC to figure it out.

That is where the time I don't have comes into play. To search about for someting I posted 6 months ago and all. The main thing keeping me busy here is the LPF social group. LOL if you were to add the posts there to my posts counts here I would be pushing 10k easy.

I have found it hard a couple times now to get back into character to play Kye, which was the big decider for me. When you really can't get back into the click with your character than it is time to move on.

Oh come on you know how to RP Kye, he is a Holier-than-thou Cleric of Helm :D Merry is the older sister, Jill is the kid. The one who cried about her rag bunny rabbit doll. The adventure is breaking off Angelwatch in a few posts and you won't need to remember this stuff anyway.

He was a holier than thou cleric and very loud but after his defeat by the banshee (his first ever). I was going to put some doubt into him but I forgot about it. But should have done so during the dwarf fight.

Anyway I have to much going on and wish you luck and all but not "feeling" the character enough to wish to stay on.
