Do moveable conjurations provote Opportunity Attacks?

(Edit: I meant "provoke" Opportunity Attacks)

In particular I was wondering if a shaman's companion spirit provokes opportunity attacks when the shaman has it move past enemies in a way that would cause normal characters or creatures to provoke opportunity attacks. I assume this would be the same as for any moveable conjuration which is subject to attack by a melee basic attack.

If the spirit companion is subject to opportunity attacks, can the shaman cause it to shift one square instead of moving it his speed in order to avoid opportunity attacks?

Although I cannot find a reference to it in either the Rules Compendium or PHB 2 I distinctly remember this same subject coming up before and it was found that the Spirit Companion is not subject to opportunity attacks. It is also immune to attack that have an area of effect like bursts and blasts. Only melee or range targeted attacks can affect it.

This. And to be even more precise, only the damage from melee or ranged attacks affect it, and only if the damage is above the 'destroy it' threshhold.

Conjurations (and Zones) are not creatures and don't provoke OAs.

This too. (with the caveat that if it says it's a creature, it's a creature, and is subject to OAs. Nothing exists saying your spirit companion is a creature.)

Thanks. I believe you are all correct. Following your line of thought, I further reviewed the Opportunity Attack power and it actually specifies an "enemy" as the target, which is under the Target definitions in the Rules Compendium, is clearly a subcategory of "creature". Chapter 2 of the Rules Compendium makes it (I think) clear that a creature is one that has a full set of creature statistics such as Origin, hit points, etc. So a conjuration, unless it is specifically a creature, cannot be an enemy and cannot be a target of Opportunity Attack.

Yup, though Dracosuave is correct that the conjuration rules in PHB2 make mention that a conjuration CAN be a creature in theory. Figurines of Wondrous Power seem to fall into that category, though the rules on them are rather muddy. I'd consider them to provoke OAs. There are a few other gray areas like Familiars which don't seem to be classified precisely at all (not conjurations surely, not really creatures either, but they apparently DO provoke OAs... go figure). Spirit Companions and things like Flaming Sphere definitely don't provoke though. Like many parts of 4e you kind of have to play it by ear sometimes.
