Do not buy anything from overstock.com

My mother, who is 60, wanted to get a little laptop to just surf the net, ect.. She bought a Dell laptop from overstock.com.. When she got it, there was no recovery CD, the video driver was not installed, and other things that was suposted to be installed was no place to be found.
After I searched the net and installed what she needed, it was working fine but started to act up. Turns out they sent her the wrong laptop. They sent her a much older model that was suposted to go back to the factory. It gets better, Overstock can't just replace the computer because the model my Mom wanted is sold out and they are not getting anymore. So My Mom has to send the one she got back and they will just give her a refund. Morons.

Well for one, they are charging her a restocking fee for sending the laptop back. She just wanted the thing to work, she is old and just wants the thing to work. Due to someones incompendece at Overstock.com, she is dissapinted and has to go through the agravation of sending it back.

Ya, it is sad when this happens to people but mistakes happen and rarely does who the customer is factor into it.

I think this time Ken has a point. Doesn't make much sense for them to charge a restocking fee when they sent the wrong item. If Overstock did not have such a great reputation, I would suspect they were sending inferior products on purpose, with the knowledge that even if people figure it out they make a profit off the "restocking" fee.
