Do number of posts matter to you?

Does the number of posts a poster has matter to you for credibility?

Not really. Post count will get you more recognition, that's about it. Post count does not necessarily equal quality content however. Some prolific posters I respect a lot, others, not so much. I just keep mental tabs of posters that I recognize.

If someone posts with a low post count, I just judge on a post to post basis.

Unfortunately quantity does tend to decrease quality. It seems to me that message boards with post counts tend to encourage regulars to post whenever and wherever they can to get the post count up. I mean, I have seen so many "QFT" posts from high-post-count members.

I would emphasize "tend". The trick is just knowing people's BS to quality post ratio. ;)

Right, since we are on a D20 message board I figure it makes sense to use the d20 XP tables for level advancement. And 45k is tenth level!!

And remember we don't get posts deleted; we get level drained!! :p
Have you considered using some of your excess posts to create magic items?

I only really notice people in their single digits, and then it's not a superiority complex, but just an interest in what a newbie to the boards has to say.

....'Sides, if post count is REALLY what matters, no one is even paying attention to what I'm saying. I browse the forums several times a day, but I don't post unless I really think that I have something worthwhile to say.

Awww ... :(

Don't be so rough on yourself! :D

I don't really care.

Sure I recognize some posters due to their massive numbers.

But with occasional Board Crashes & whatnot if you make Post Count your goal, you are going to get really burned sometime ( I think I hit 1,000 posts 3 times).

The only time I pay attention is those with 1-5 posts due to the number of Poster/Spammers out there. (those posts get deleted pretty fast anyhow).

And, let's face it, there is more to the Internet than Gaming Sites. (welll, add Porn in & there is not a LOT more, but there is more).

Like Webcomics about gaming for example.
