I think it might have been much more productive if the term "currently" was included on the end of that question... Right now, it appears as if everyone both plays and DMs, which doesn't seem right as one would expect people playing more than people DMing...

I totally agree, I was Just a DM for a very long time and got very burned out, when I got to play a character again I found it to be very invigerating.

DMing

I used to DM my group all the time, but got feed up rapidly - and ran out of ideas and creativity causing a descent into formula.

Now we DM in a rota of one session (we play for about 6-8 hours) per person. While this style has distinct disadvantages we have managed to make it (sort of) work. If someone misses there go, the next covers and he makes it up later, and if someone runs over the limit by a session or two he skips his next go.

"Round Robin"-DMing wouldn't work for us. We have too much personal stuff going on in our campaigns to be able to swap around all the time.

We'll try switching DM's the next time we're done with a major plotline, though.

I play about 20-25 hours a week and DM about 5 hours a week.

I would love to add another night of DMming, but I'm afraid my head would explode.

Well..... i did do both but......but that was until i killed all my players who were at level 3 with an assasin vine......now i just play

I am surprised people even want to play with you after you killed your players ;)

The last couple of months are actually the first time I get a chance to play now and then. Before that time I was the only person who my fellow players wanted as a DM. Even now it is not easy to play in a regular campaign. My fellow DM is not too comfortable as a DM.

Hmm, well I've been doing the lions share of the DMing for about the last year now.

There was baout a month break though that I got to play. Simply a dungeon delve hack and slash though. No real story line or plot behind it.

Damn, this is almost depressing. I really need to get one of my players interested in Dming something with a plot. Heck, even something that resembles a plot.
