Do you mix D&D and Arcana Evolved?

I'm curious about how many people mix D&D and Arcana Evolved. Are there places that focus on discussions/resources for those who mix the two? I've seen most discussions about this topic on this and Monte's boards tend to peter out fairly quickly with few posts. Makes me wonder if I am a rare breed or if the topic isn't interesting enough or if the questions are just really sporadic.

I use Arcana Evolved as a base and add D&D elements on top for my campaign (Realms based). I mix and match the classes/races/feats and such but only use AE's magic system. I've made modifications to core classes, feats and prestige classes to work within the system I've set up. I'd love to share what I've done and see what others have done. Anyone else feel the same?

That's enough rambling from me.

Thanks.

I play with AE rules/races/classes in Eberron, and use the normal D&D classes for NPCs. I have allowed my PCs to use normal races(changling, elf) with the AE classes. In fact, as of the last game, I have 4 PCs with normal races, and 1 race I built for the player(she just Had to play a brownie). Used to have a Mojh magister, but the player wanted to change to a different character, so the mojh is now passed out after combat where he nearly died. He's stable, but they've gotta drag him out of the mournlands before he'll heal... At which point he'll suddenly decide to leave adventuring to the... less sane.

I haven't had anyone wanting to play the original D&D classes at all. The new classes are one of the biggest draws to AE/AU. So I've mostly had NPCs use them, and that's it. It hasn't been much of a problem yet.

My homebrew uses Arcana Evolved races and equipment, and in some other games I've mixed in classes and spells. I'm not using spell levels anymore, though, as just about everyone on this site is aware by now :D

A campaign I was in ended last December. We introduced elements from AU (or AE?) and Iron Kingdoms, the latter especially near the end.

I played an Iron Kingdoms ranger, updated to 13th-level. It was a blast.

I mix things up a little. I make most of the classes and races available as PC races, unless I think they totally go against the feel of the setting I'm running. Most of my players don't avail themselves of those options, though and go for WotC splat book options. The one thing I've been able to get everyone to agree upon is the death and dying rules in AE (not dead until -Con, and so forth). My next campaign, I'm going to stick in Arcane Focus rules for casters and swap out Hide and Move Silently with Sneak.

I am not currently running a campaign, but I have combined AU/AE and D&D in a few events I have run at Chicago Gamedays. The two systems work well together, and my players have had fun with the characters and the events.

I have in such events replaced Hide and Move Silently with Sneak, and allowed one version or another of similar feats and spells in some cases. For the most part, D&D character classes function as per the core rules books and the AE characters work with those rules.

Actually, I think that mixing the two occurs a lot, but not in the games of those who frequently post on Monte's or here. :) Also, I think it's an idiosyncratic mix, so the "techniques" of combining both vary greatly from DM to DM.

I have one game where PCs from either D&D 3.5 or AE are allowed. So far, I've had some mixing of both. (One half-orc barbarian ritual warrior comes to mind as the best example.) I also converted all the PCs to AE-style casting, including rangers and paladins and that's been working well.
