Do you regret the fact that you don't get to game as much as you would like?

Do any of you get that grass is always greener feeling where you wonder if you are getting the best gaming experience that you possibly could?

I've got the basic problem that my preferred group simply cannot meet as often as I'd like. I'd love to game once a week, but these days, I'm lucky ifr I get once a fortnight.

I don't, however, get the "grass is always greener" feeling. Making Perfect the enemy of Good is a fine way of shooting yoruself in the foot, so that you end up with Nothing. I don't get enough gaming, but what gaming I do get is fun, and I'd not jump ship unless I knew all my players would prefer that other thing too...

Since I gamed about three times in the past year (the last time being five months ago), I'd have to say the answer is YES! Alas, life currently forbids me from gaming any more than that... :(

Hell yes!

I miss the old days when I played D&D 5 nights a week. Did that for a number of years as D&D was my television (other people watch television in the evening, I played D&D).

Now, I am lucky to get one game in in a week. <sigh>

Oh,well....such is the reality of life and responsibillity - marriage, children, jobs, etc.

But I do miss playing more than once a week.

As my group dissolved after 2 core players move, I'd say yeah. :(
I have some prospects for forming a new group in the fall, however.

All in all, I guess I'm quite lucky. I game on average twice a week. As a member of a wargames/role playing club there are generally games run on Friday nights (6:00 - 9:30ish) plus games on Saturday and Sunday (2:00 - 8:00ish).

Our 'problem' is that there are (IMO) too many games being run at the same time. So it might be 4-6 weeks til we play the next session of a specific game.

I would like to play more than the once a quater year I do now, but that would mean taking time away from things that are more important right now. I'm recently married as well and I have a job that keeps me away from home alot. We're still trying to get the house organized after being gone for two weeks, and with me being gone for days on end for work, the weekend nights are for us to spend time together. There's always stuff to be done on the house from fixing garage doors to the dreaded landscaping. Not to mention the schedules of many in my group are just as bad or worse. It doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Maybe in another year, after we've moved and got settled in a bigger house with some space to breathe, I'll get around to gaming more often. That would also mean that my groups' schedules would have to be freed up by then as well...

The last campaign I ran ended last summer. After that, an abortive attempt to set up a 2nd Ed campaign which crashed due to lack of players, and two Paranoia one-shots, I've not played or GMed a game since then. :(

I...NEED...TO ROLL...INITIATIVE...

My group of six became a group of five after one guy's job took him to England, then a group of three after the DM moved further south in Chicago and the two guys from the northern 'burbs couldn't make it anymore. But I still get my fix! We've been playing Mutants and Masterminds the last few weeks and this past Sunday I finally FINALLY got to run Exalted 2e with them and they liked it!

My advice, be happy with what you have!

I play about 3.5 hours once a week. It takes care of my gaming needs.
I wouldn't mind playing a bit longer each week but it is what works for our group.
