Does the Barbarian's Howling Strike Stack with the Horned Helm

The usual anti-striker tactics work. Throw in a bunch of Minions to act as screeners; use difficult terrain and thing to hide behind to restrict the PC's mobility; and clump up.

Note that clumped-up antagonists make it harder on Strikers but much, much easier on Controllers.

Unfortunately if I clump up, then the Sorcerer wreaks havoc. I'm sure I'll find ways of neutralising his lethality... say a horde of artillery on raised ledges that slow on a hit. But I'm not going to design all my encounters just to shut him down, that wouldn't be very fair. I'll just make sure to shut him down during the fights that count ;p

Actually, I am taking elements from Ravenloft's Griffon Hill at the moment and had the PC's battle a de-leveled version of Strahd Von Zarovich in their feverish, nightmare wracked dreams (that they didn't know was a dream of course). It was very amusing having the Barbarian dominated and slaughtering his companions with the combo I described above. Of course after they died, hacked to bits by the barbarian and poisoned to death in Strahd's venomous cloud, they woke up sweating and feverish, with a sense of ominous foreboding of what is to come!

Absolutely true.

Well, if you've got those two Strikers, the only good advice I can offer is: send in the monsters in waves, particularly Minions and Skirmishers. Also, try to throw in an Elite Lurker or two. I always used to ignore Lurkers because I'm lazy and it's not immediately obvious how to use them, but when you use one right, it will help your players feel the kind of shocked horror that brings a smile to the kindly DM's face.
