Does your gaming take a hit because of the holidays?

Our regular Monday game of course falls right on Xmas and New Years so there you go.

I have no idea if the sometimes-on-Sundays game I play in will be canceled or not.

Just depends on when those two holidays coincide with game days I guess.

This year we are not missing any gaming sessions though we might be doing a one shotin one game if the DM gets to busy because of his job.

Yeah, regualr games take a hit for sure.

On the other hand, during the week between Christmas and New years, my nephew, his wife, my wife and our teenage niece have started a little tradition of the Christmas Dungeon Crawl...a one off we have every year at this time. Good fun.

The holidays don't interfere with our games any more than other times of the year. Two of us work retail and a third works at a college bookstore. The woman who works at the bookstore and myself are busy in August/September and in December. During the summer, another group member who is a teacher, takes vacations with his family. Our group plays whenever we can. The time of year has no effect.

The holiday can put a hurt on our game. We might try for a day long game session Jan 7th, but most people, i.e. those with kids start fading after about 6 hours.

Not really.

Among other things, it lets me get together with my old group from Wisconsin, when I go back to Green Bay to spend Christmas with my family. And, I'm usually off work between Christmas and New Year's, so we usually get another game or two in during that week.

We gamed last weekend for the last time till the last week of January. Xmas holidays + exams for some of us still in highschool means it's just easier to resume after a month and a half hiatus.

it sucks... OTOH, I am going to be adding two more (veteran) players into my group, so :D:D

cheers,

We have two games -- both on Sunday, each alternating. The one I run will be meeting tomorrow. It will be our sole game of December, I believe. So yeah, big time hit. :)
