A good episode, and whoever called Whiskey's identity got it just right.

It's interesting that, given the obvious residual personalities that reside in the dolls, the dollhouse hasn't taken more direct precautions with regard to the kinds of imprints they will allow the dolls to possess (client wants a violent crime spree fantasy a la "Natural Born Killers"? Don't send former psychopath alpha).

Given that Ballard burned his last bridge of legitimacy to the FBI, and that clearly nobody will believe him about the dollhouse even if discovering it is simply a matter of looking in the building when you've got a legal reason to, I still don't get why Ballard allowed himself to become an employee of the dollhouse. Even rescuing Mellie doesn't seem like a particularly compelling motive, when all the other dolls are still prisoners/slaves/zombies.

Lots of good Wheadon-esque lines in this one.

I was not impressed. I no longer feel the show is keeping internal consistency and I just don't understand the point of the show. If it does manage to get renewed I will happily not worry about watching it anymore.

I dug it. A little sad to see SuperEcho go, but I'm sure she'll be back. I do wonder how they got her to go back in the chair.

We've sort of resolved the first layer Echo/Caroline's story, but we still don't know what the 'purpose' of the Dollhouse is.

A less than ideal resolution to the Alpha storyline. I keep coming back to the opinion of "lame".

Still, all things considered, I would like the show back next year.

I feel like putting Echo back at status quo is less interesting than having her escape, but I'm not sure what her motives would be then, other than to get her personality back. They really should have had a scene with SuperEcho interacting with someone other than Alpha.

I was one of the ones who guessed at the doctor being Whiskey.

As far as the residual personalities, it's clear that they'd never encountered that before. Topher had an inkling (saying that they shouldn't put the paranoid traits into Alpha, but clearly the business side was more than willing to ignore the stated risks in order to make a sale.

Agreed, the end felt anticlimactic with how things got resolved (Omega/Echo, Ballard, Alpha) - perhaps it was rushed (i.e. more stuff meant to be shown that got dropped in the final edit) or else it was plain and simple "we need to tie up everything in 30 seconds of screen time ..."
So, yeah, a little disappointing in that aspect of it.
But other than that, it was entertaining enough.

It did lead me wondering:
1) What they would do with poor victor (perhaps he will get a staff personality like "whiskey" did -- becoming a handler?)

2) What role will Ballard have? Someone suggested several episodes ago that Ballard would become Echo's handler, I see that as a strong possibility too

I'm guessing next season will be about exploring what the Dollhouse's real agenda is -- perhaps Ballard or Victor will play a part in protecting that --but none the less, it leaves me curious to see how they will take next season (this season was about introducing and understanding the basics of the dollhouse - and in of itself, it was interesting, but I would need next season to break away from that to keep my interest without it feeling repetitive).

By the way, did anyone else realize who "Wendy" was, the actress. At first I didn't notice but after she talked in the chair I suddenly started to recognize her facial expressions -- hint, she was a child star in the early 90s on a fairly popular sitcom (the sitcom itself ran from mid80s to early 90s, so she was on there towards the end) -- no, not an Olsen twin from Full House :P.
Chrissy, the youngest child added to the cast in the later seasons of Growing Pains
. It was somewhat fun to see that she (as an actress) was still actually doing something (albeit it a minor role, was still a role).
