Doom of the Savage Kings

Gratien laid a hand on Hank. Long slender fingers curled gently around the sinew and flesh on Hank's forearm. The Elf's hand was cool to touch. Gratien shook his head "no." "My friend, badgers are not to be trifled with. Best not to loose one in here, where quarters are cramped. If anyone is to explore the cavity, let the Halfling go." The Elf looked at Homer. "If you're going to see what is up there, do it now. Shall I lift you?" Gratien made a saddle of his hands and motioned for Homer to step up.

OOC: Homer is the Halfling, right?

ooc: right

Homer accepts the hands up. "If you hear me scream but stop suddenly, don't bother coming to my rescue." He pulls out the Elvin shortsword and leaves his left hand empty. He crawls a few feet in and says,"By then it will be recovery"

"Homer, just make it back. OK?" says Hank

"That IS the plan" Returns homer, his voice getting softer as he crawls further in.

Franko is silent, his eyes big and fearful, like watching a collision of stage coaches with out being able to stop it or to turn away. What ever is going through his mind - everyone should be glad he is not voicing whatever horror it may be.

Homer has no difficulty reaching the crawlspace, particularly with Gratien's boost. He crawls along as the tunnel gently slopes upwards and around, out of sight of those waiting in the antechamber below. As he climbs he hears a cracking of the woven stick ceiling behind him.

Turning to look Homer sees a snarling human with dirt-caked fangs and claws scrabbling after him.

[sblock=OOC]I'm sorry for the delay. I'm not sure how I missed Scott's post, but it seems I did.

Monster Initiative: [roll0]

Initiative for Homer, please. You can act if you beat the monster initiative.

Back in the antechamber where everyone waits for Homer's scouting report they hear the halfling yell.

The creature, the dead creature Homer sees, scrambles up behind him and grabs and scratches at him with long, claw-like nails tearing into the flesh of Homer's leg.

[sblock=OOC]Attack1: [roll0] & [roll1] damage if successful.
Attack2: [roll2] & [roll3] damage if successful.

"Quick, Alois! Gimme a boost!" Lizt hopped over and stood directly beneath the hole. She kept her short sword in one hand.

Alois lumbered over. He obligingly helped Lizt up to the hole, then stammered, "I don't think you should go up there, Lizt."

Lizt ignored Alois. She accepted his help lifting her toward the hole, then quick as a wink scrabbled the rest of the way in. As soon as she was inside the small tunnel, she manuevered toward the noises she heard.

Homer kicks at the thing crawling at him, " Get away from me! Hurry, it is tring to eat my feet!!"

Hank is holding the torch and tries to hold it where it helps to light the tunnel.

Franko jumps from one foot to the other holding his head, "No no no no! Leave Homer alone! He does not taste good at all!!"

"Snakes, undead... what next?" Tender asks as he stares upwards into the crawlspace. "You gents want to start cutting loose with that magic now?"

Boral and Kurl stare upwards, trying to see if they have line of sight at the creature.

Hank smiles and says, "One badger, on the way!"
Procurius Mellivora capensis Sommonae Procurius Mellivora capensis Sommonae! ! Procurius Mellivora capensis Sommonae ! ! ! !

summon Honey Badger in front of Lizt.

[roll1] (Hoping for a 12 or more)

A dark cloud gathers in the hole from which can be heard a grunting of a rather parsnipity honey badger - it might have had its latest meal interrupted - in front of lizt. the smoky wisps dissipates and hank is heard to speak IN A FEMININE VOICE "Attack the creature in front of you, but leave the halfling alone. He is a friend and means you no nevermind!" SHE says in an authoritative voice.

Those not in the tunnel watch Hank suddenly melt and reshape into a human woman! What?!

*ahem* "Excuse the oice thing, Its from casting the spell"

Franko's attention is amazingly (but not really) distracted away to Hank, "what?" his head tilted off to the side at a 45 degree angle.

Homer is holding on, but if he takes damage like before he wont be making it.
