Doom of the Savage Kings

Once again, Kurl touches Tender on the shoulder in an attempt to Bless him. "Go forth and kill for my master, dwarf," he says with a grin.

Boral touches the other shoulder while using his Enlarge Spell and says, "Tender, let's end this quick and get out of here. But don't make the killing blow. I have a feeling the spear should do that job."

Tender marches forth and wades into the fray, swinging his sword and shield in his attempt to aid his companions. "This place feels evil. Maybe killing the beast will end this dark magic."

Gratien handed the spear to Tender, saying, "Here, friend, your strength is greater than mine. The Gods are calling you to the annals of history!"

OOC: If Gratien can't hand off the spear this round, he'll do so at the start of next round.

Hank summons in his badger friend but Franko's spell is not just fouled up, it is lost for the day.

Likewise Boral's enlarge spell is lost but Kurl's bless does its work giving Bobugbubilz' blessing on all Tender's attacks for a while. Tender chops into the Hound's hide though as before his blade barely cuts into the flesh. The Hound whirls throwing off Tender's shield attack so that it misses.

Hank's badger goes wild snapping at the Hound with its teeth. Fangs close on air and the Hound is unscathed by the attack.

Homer seems battle-ready but the fight moves around him: Gratien hands the spear off to Tender (he can use it one-handed, with shield), and the Hound snaps and scratches at Tender. The claws scrape harmlessly off Tender's armor but the teeth clamp down on vitals dealing a severe wound to the dwarf.

GM: Everyone is up!

[sblock=OOC]FYI: Spear of Hirot; +1 to hit, damage, & initiative. On a hit, the wielder can use the crossbars to pin a creature and reduce its AC by the wielder's STR bonus. Sacrifice action & make a contested strength check to maintain pin. Pinning affects magical and prevents gaseous form, teleporting, etc.

Lizt stood nearby Tender and whaled with her short sword on the Hound. Satisfied that the spear was now with its proper bearer, Gratien retreated twenty feet, and picked up his bow. He checked the string, then fitted an arrow and took aim at the Hound.

OOC: Lizt [roll0] for [roll1].

I'm not sure Gratien can move, pick up his bow, and fire all in the same round, or if doing so nets the Hound an AoO. I don't want Gratien to suffer an AoO, so will simply withdraw this round if that's the case. If Gratien can somehow get off a shot, here are the rolls. [roll2] for [roll3].

With his Enlarge spell now done for the day, Boral curses under his breath and decides to attempt a Force Manipulation bolt to the side of the Hound's flank.

[roll0]

Worried for Tender, Kurl steps behind the dwarf and touches his back in an attempt to heal him. "Great Bobugbubilz, please do not your servant's meat shield fall."

[roll1]

Tender, for his part, strikes hard with the spear now in his hand. "We brought this beast down once and we can do it again! Pour it on, lads!"

[sblock=OOC]Sorry, CB, no withdraw action in DCC. Gratien can stay in place or will take an attack as he moves out of combat. Your choice.[/sblock]

OOC: No problem, GE. There's probably no fix for avoiding the AoO, and I really want Gratien out of the way, so he'll move 20' this round. No sense delaying the inevitable. And, again, if he cannot move, pick up the bow, and fire a shot this round, no worries. My goal is to get him out of melee and armed with the bow. Anything extra is just gravy.
