Doom of the Savage Kings

Lizt squeaked in fright and dropped Homer's head. She'd been cradling his head while trying to rouse him, but she didn't hesitate to drop him when the ghoul's corpse birthed a snake. "IhatesnakesIhatesnakesIhatesnakes." Lizt shot upward, frantically trying to scrabble her way to freedom through the hole in the tunnel ceiling.

Tender and Boral rush up to the space underneath the tunnel Lizt is crawling through in an effort to help them down or at least help break their falls. Boral yells, "Don't look back, Lizt. Drop down with Homer and hurry!"

Homer's head hits the floor of the tunnel with a thump as Lizt dropped it and scrambled away. It was almost one more indignity than he could bear but it jolted him awake in time to see her feet disappear (presumably after the rest of her) up a tunnel in the ceiling. Too close Homer could see a snake, a very large snake, ripping its way out of the ghoul's body. He has just enough time before the snake is free to act.

Lizt ascends the chimney and suddenly finds herself crawling out into a chamber. It should be black as night in this chamber but there is a glimmer of light. As she adjusts she has a start when she thinks she sees another ghoul glaring at her but it is just a Skeletal corpse. The skeleton is garbed in hides and rusty ringmail and sits a throne of stone. A long spear lays atop a hide on the skeleton's lap and it is this spear that faintly glows. A polished drinking horn hangs from the throne's arm.

In the burial antechamber, the others wait and listen but hear no response to Boral's call beyond a thrashing of something large in the tunnel.

[sblock=OOC]Homer is at 1 hp. His near death experience leaves him a little muddled (-4 penalty to all rolls for the next hour) and scarred (permanent -1 to Stamina).[/sblock]

OOC: Homer is where then? with the others or in the dark chamber where there may be a grue ready to eat him :D (remember you started that!)? fighting post weekend of work exhaustion. First work since going in the hospital since 2011!!!

Homer is in a narrow tunnel right next to a giant snake. He has the option to go up a vertical tunnel after Lizt or continue the spiraling tunnel. Moving over the snake to return to the chamber with Tender, Franko, Alois and the others would be risky. The snake is currently ripping its way out of the ghoul and so won't be able to attack if Homer decides to flee.

"Gah!" exclaims the normally silent halfling! he climbs the chimney after lizzt and sees better then the human can.

"Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"
"I think that was a grue and it tried to eat us"

OOC: Is there any person who can fight able to get up after that snake? Tender is willing to get up there, but I think it would be tricky for the party to lift a dwarf over their heads in full plate and expect him to scrabble after a snake in a small tunnel.

ooc: Perhaps, now there are no more obstacles, another badger will work!

Hank, still in a feminine voice is heard once again to speak in a ritualistic chant, "One more badger, on the way!"

Procurius Mellivora capensis Sommonae Procurius Mellivora capensis Sommonae! ! Procurius Mellivora capensis Sommonae ! ! ! !"

-~- Action: summon Honey Badge -~-

A skeleton of a four legged creature solidifies out of the mist of the dank underground passage, as far down as hank can see through the tunnel. after a second internal organs can be seen to materialize, then skin and fur and claws. Hank orders it to go eat the snake, which it does with eager avorice!

But wait, there is a second where the first was with a look of 'me too?' Hank is surprised as to summons bringing two! He sends the other to join its twin!!
