DR energy spell?

Hey anyone have any idea on how much higher of a level a spell should be if it provided DR to an energy type as opposed to resistance. So it would protect form every energy attack of the right type while it was up, instead of providing an amount of protection for the round. For example DR 5 v endure elements, if set up v fire. hit for 5 from a flaming sword, 6 from a flaming sphere and 23 from a fireball in one round. DR energy would trun that into 0,1,18 point sof damage, while endure elements would turn it into 0,6,23 points of damage. Should this be one level higher, two levels higher? I'm just getting really sick of hasted fireball throwing mages, where I just get blasted by the 2nd fireball and frequently drop into the negatives in one round even when I make my saves.

I think rasing the spell level by two should be enough. I'd still call it resistance, but just make sure it's understoond it's applied to all attacks.

However, there are a lot of spells that can protect you from certain elements. I'm not familiar with them all, but one might fit what you are trying to do in a different way.
