Dragon 305 back cover ad-worse then the F-word?

Nudity definitely, but I somehow doubt that there is any place in the world where people swear more than in the U.S. Maybe it's just me though. I'll have to look into moving to Italy. I'm positive I can offend anyone with my mouth.
More than swearing (yeah, people swear everywhere - though I'm sure noone can beat the fine tradition of blasphemy speak of northeastern Italy :D), it's being offended by swearing the point. I can't think of anyone at all around here who would be offended by a single swearword in a piece of fiction in an otherwise squeaky clean magazine that isn't even aimed at the very young.

As I think more about it, I realize that it's fairly more complex than I used to think. I'm not a sociologist, ok? :)

Lo, let it be said, and let it be known; from the mountains on high to the valleys down low; from the waters of the oceans to the sands of the deserts; let it be spoken in buildings, and proclaimed in the public squares: Dragon 305 shall forever more be known as the X-rated issue.

And upon this declaration there was much squabbling, and much bickering, and nashing of teeth. There was crying in the city streets and uprisings among the masses. And men did race their chariots 'round and fire arrows from them, but it was in vain. The art on the paper refused to change and the words on the page would not be altered. Alas mankind saw the clear light of dawn and the crying in the streets became a wimper and no more arrows would be fired from the chariots. Alas, accepted man, Dragon #305 is forever the X-rated issue.

And a deep and lasting peace fell over the earth.

And in one month we'll be hearing the same stuff:

"The April Issues are a waste of my money! Jokes are dumb! I'm never buying an issue of Dragon ever again!"

I only read the first few messages on this thread so if someone else has said this- sorry.

Though the publisher may have let this slip by, Confrontaion Figures are a French company. Generally the french are not uptight about a little "show" in their figures and society in general.

Any French subscribers- agree or disagree?

Beyond that, what is the difference between that and the common Wrestlers mag or certain comicbooks.

T&A sells. Always has...always will. 'course, to be fair, would that add have made it if it were a male showing strong suggestions of his manhood.

I just want to say one thing.

It's "bowdlerized" Johnny. Come'on, you're an editor.

Note to self: Have editors go over all my stupid postings lest I look dumber than I am.

You know, I've had more shameful typos than that. I guess spelling came so easily to me in grade school that I became careless in adult life. This was really bad at CGW when I had to edit myself at times--(where did I get that variant spelling of segue? how did I coin the phrase paiktography instead of paizography, as it should have been? why did I let the #299 issue go out with "Demons and Angles" on the cover? was I expecting a follow-up on "Devils and Saxons?").

Also, know what's worse than typos? Sometimes, those verbal miscues like when I was speaking in church about being "secularly competent" in order to have any kind of credibility and used the term "sexually competent." We had a lot of college students ready to hit the evangelism class after that pre-Bush and pre-Quayle (sic) verbal screw-up...er...adulteration...er...mistake.

Ah dont worry mate, people that pick on other people about spelling mistakes on a messageboard tend to have some other mental disfunctions about lots of things.
Either that or theyre failed primary school teachers that are frustrated that they cant smear the monitor with a red biro and put an S/P over everything you do :D

Maybe Im in the minority these days, but Im a cranky old bastard that dosent care for being "politically correct". Im hoping theres a few of us out there still, sometimes I get very alone and frightened by people that mince words and hide the truth because theyre afraid of 'offending someone'

I like swearing, yes I do I really like having a good swear and curse after screwing something up, it makes me feel much better and relieves a lot of stress.

I dont care if people put up pictures of other people that arent wearing anything at all. Did 3 years at uni drawing people that were not wearing anything at all and to be honest there isnt anything that you could stick in a magazine advert that would remotely offend me.

I shop smart, I dont buy magazines or anything else for that matter because its got a cute woman on it, maybe if they include the cute woman with the item perhaps... But it still has to have some substance before I'll buy it.

ya know what?
F :) :) :) em!
Someone gives you crap about it, tell em to go buy a nice happy magazine on Gardening or Cooking where they wont be inadvertantly 'offended' by some flowers or a nice cup of tea.
When I hear men say 'oh dont swear like that you'll offend someone!' or 'my that woman isnt wearing any clothes, how offensive' it makes me realise that as a species we are truly damned...

Stop being little bitches people, I wont tell your missus honest!!!
RAAAAAWR! :D

I am with the last two posters. Too many people are way too easily offended nowadays. When did the world get soft? When did the minority rule? Down with oppression from the overly sensitive!
