Quite! :)

Though I must say that the half-undead templates sound REALLY cool and VERY useful for a great many campaign worlds. I know that they'll find a place in the Shattered World!

So what's the cause of the continuing absence of Ed Greenwood's "Elminster's Guide to the Realms"? (That column is the main reason I've bought Dragon at all in the last year.) Has anyone at Paizo commented on this?

Born of Death - Four templates for half-undead creatures: the fetch (half-ghost), gheden (half-zombie), ghul (half-ghoul), and katane (half-vampire). Fetches get a short sidebar about them in the Ghostwalk campaign.

Not to be confused with the fetch from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting. Isn't it neat that so many names for things have already been taken and used in multiple places?

Cheers,

I agree! I liked this very much and looked forward to it. It was info that could be used with any world system. They keep getting rid of all the good stuff in my opinion.

Right now, the only stuff of Ed's we're getting is occasional sourcebook work and the excellent "Realmslore" column which works out to about 20,000 words a year -- compared to the millions of words mouldering unpublished in his house. (This Realmslore bottleneck is one of the reasons for the new Castlemorn setting.) So the Dragon column would be a sore loss, and after six issues without it doesn't look good. If this is a deliberate decision to remove all but occasional world-specific content, that's senseless because the continuing 'generic' articles are just as much set in a particular world -- just an unnamed one that we don't know anything about and that tends to change with each article.

One of the reasons for the omission of Mr. Greenwood's Dragon articles, might be his current work on the Waterdeep novel that he's currently authoring with Elaine Cunningham. Based upon Mrs. Cunningham's comments on the official WOTC board, it appears they are immersed into writing this new work about The City of Splendors.

And gee, only 22 more months til we see it. :(

I don't know, Greenwood's stuff never really grabbed me. I'm not a big fan of his writing style. I honestly haven't missed the column. I wouldn't mind a regular FR column, but I would like to see some other authors.

Me too. I was wondering about that. And Dork Tower. Pazio never commented on Dork Tower either...
