Actually, the steel dragon has already been converted to 3.0, in Living Greyhawk Journal #1, as the 'Greyhawk dragon'. It was originally known as such, before its inclusion in the 2E Monstrous Manual, when it recieved a setting-generic name.

Hmmm... I can find these references to steel and Greyhawk dragons...
  1. 1982: Dragon #62, p8 (Steel)
  2. 1988: Greyhawk Adventures, p26 (Greyhawk)
  3. 1990: Monstrous Compendium Greyhawk Appendix (MC5) (Greyhawk)
  4. 1990: Draconomicon (FOR1), p69 (Steel)
  5. 1993: Monstrous Manual, p86 (Steel)
  6. 2000: Living Greyhawk Journal #1 (Greyhawk)
The steel dragon from Dragon #62 is a loner living high in the atmosphere. The Greyhawk dragon from Greyhawk adventures is a social creature, usually living in a city, polymorphed into human form. So those are definitely different creatures.

The steel dragons in the (old) Draconomicon and again in the Monstrous Manual are the sociable flavour, and the text in the Draconomicon refers to "a close relationship between the steel dragon and the Greyhawk dragon".

Has the original steel dragon been converted?

IMO, the steel dragon from the forgotten realms, and the greyhawk dragon for its namesake world, at not one in the same. but then, i haven't really researched it. ;)

Someone asked for the Amber Dragon, and I would like the Ferrous Dragons myself, plus the pearl and jade dragons, and any aquatic dragon you might have. (except the Amphi and Sea dragons as they are in the Dragonlance Monser Book that was released a couple of months back)
Which Dragonlance monster book? I didn't think Bestiary of Krynn had been released yet. Are these dragons perhaps in the main Dragonlance Campaign Setting?

Well, according to the Dragonlance website, the monster book was released a while ago.

As for the steel dragon, I will look through it stats, and the old draconomicon before deciding on which I will convert.

Btw, more dragon stats needed, I need something to do over x-mas ;)

Hm. I could have sworn that the Greyhawk MC and the MM had the same flavor text for the two dragons... same breath weapon too, and an almost identical illustration.
