Klaus,

Yes and Mystic I liked more since you got domains and spellcasting, but a) no turning and b) less weapon procifiencies. (I think...)

I'm sure one of my friends will be thrilled about it. Personally, I think I'd prefer the Warlock version than the aura version. Kinda like the idea of variant Warlocks under different themes. Then again I'm a huge fan of variant base classes, so...

Wow, that really is a warlock with a breath weapon isn't it?

Odd, but seems okay.

Don't all these new classes with breath weapons kind of give the old Dragon Disciple the shaft? They only get their breath weapon 1/day, after all. OK, they get their ability increases and random spell progression, but I'm thinking with these new classes, less and less people will now be taking DD as a PrC...is that a bad thing? I'm not sure, but I'm always a little disappointed when core classes get made redundant by flashy new supplementals.

For instance, will anyone every feel like taking an Enchantment oriented Sorcerer again, since the Beguiler became available?

Like I say, these aren't necessarily bad things per se, but they still just dont sit quite right with me...

Seems like a Warlock with Hallitosis. Yes, too many breath weapon classes, especially when the latest one steps on the toes of the Warlock. Jumping the shark.

Besides the fact that I do agree with the sentiment that too many classes are granting breath weapons these days, I think this appears to be a fairly balanced class. A closer look at the invocations will reveal more (once I pick this book up on Thursday), but in all it does not seem like as much power creep as the BoNS introduced.

I can just see it now...the BBEG has the party captured, stripped of gear and hands tied behind their backs...

BBEG - "OK, now you will tell me what I know!"
Party - simultaneously open mouths, unleashing a hellstorm of fire, acid, cold and lightning...
BBEG - "..."
