Mystryl, then Mystra, then Midnight turned Mystra, as far as I know. So I'd guess the first Mystra is the middle goddess of Magic chronologically.I am only aware of two Mystras, but there being a middle one implies at least three. What am I missing?

That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read.Perhaps this excerpt will help, also from Crucible: The Trial of Cyric the Mad (set shortly before the aforementioned piece from a few pages back). Of course, note that this is written in the first person by Malik el Sami yn Nasser, Cyric's most devoted worshiper (who often refers to him as "the One and All"):
The first one was technically Mystryl or whatever, and she sacrificed herself to save the world when the Netheril guy tried to cast a 20th level spell or some such to become a god and so she put her power into a mentally disabled shepherdess, I think? Anyway the girl became Mystra, the second goddess of magic.I am only aware of two Mystras, but there being a middle one implies at least three. What am I missing?

Cyric IS the god of lies and strife (among other unsavory things). That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read.
Empty Night, apparently Kelemvor is a fracking dunce.
Cyric IS the god of lies and strife (among other unsavory things).
His chief worshipper would be among the most "unreliable narrator"s to be found.
unreliable narrators is the only hope for any of this Wall stuff, tbh.Cyric IS the god of lies and strife (among other unsavory things).

Yeah, like...if death holds no fear....the brave won't try to avoid death?True, but if we are meant to take this as the reasoning Kelemvor had....
Yeah, like...if death holds no fear....the brave won't try to avoid death?
What the actual butt?
He thinks brave people don't throw their lives away uselessly because they're too afraid of death!?
Nothing about that scene makes any sense, start to finish. It's almost nakedly an attempt to gloss over any rational thought in order to get to a prescribed destination.
