class abilities-

jump bonus- at first level a dragoon gets a +1 competence bonus to all jump checks, at 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th level this bonus increases by one

jump strike- at 2nd level instead of attacking normally a dragoon may make a jump check to approach a given target without drawing attacks of opportunity. when using this option a dragoon may still strike an opponent and add the listed bonus dice of damage, this is not multiplied in a critical. The DC is the distance of feet between you and the oppnet +10. so it would look like this, 10+5 to jump five feet.

evasion- at 3rd level the dragoon gains the rouge/monk ability of evasion

bonus feat- at every fourth level a dragoon gets a bonus feat chosen from from this list
alertness, combat reflexes, dodge, far shot, lightning reflexes, mobility, point blank shot, precise shot, quick draw, rapid shot, shot on the run, spring attack, weapon focus (ranged weapons, and reach melee weapons), weapon specialization at 4th level or above (same list as weapon focus)
Dragoon jump- at 7th level the dragoon’s jump check is no longer limited by his/her heigth

Improved evasion- at 13th level the dragoon gains the monk/rouge ability improved evasion.

Acrobatics: The Dragoon is an exelent at moveing in jumping and tumbling. The Dragoon gains this bouns in jump, tumble, blance, climb.

The Dragoon's fighting style was created by the Kinomen, to fight the Ooze leigions. The style was tought to many people so as to defend people. The Dragoon's stle is to jump off objects and stike with furry.

KD, it would be much appreciated if you gave some background. I can infer it's a modern thing (gets 'firearms proficiency), but not much else.

That aside, it looks pretty cool, pretty balanced. Give it Leap of the Clouds somewhere around lv 4-6.

The first level ability is exceedingly crappy, half as good as Skill Focus, you might want to shift the Jump Strike progression down one level and the Jump Bonus up one.
 



I assume you mean that the DC is determined by the distance you want to go; if it's the distance then a 15' leap requires a DC15...

So you automatically avoid attacks of opportunity when you jump? That's pretty powerful. You might make it an opposed roll against the enemy's attack or something.

Unless I miss my guess, this is inspired by Kain, from Final Fantasy II (in the US, IV in Japan, I think).

Kain had a freaky cool jumping attack where he lept of the screen for a round and then impaled the enemy the next round. Pretty cool, if ya ask me. :cool:

NO WAY I WOULD BE INSPIRED OF A DRAGOON FROM FF II!! it was my own creation with a little help from people in my campign. If any thing it was inspierd by Freya in FF 9

Historically speaking, Dragoons were heavily armed soldiers trained to fight both from horseback and on foot. If your dragoon isn't inspired by FF II, why else would it have a jump attack?
 

THE REASON

IT IS NOT BASED OFF FF2!!!!:mad: It has a jumping attack because the dragoons I have made use the jump as a tool to gain more force in their blows. If anything it is based off Freya in FF9.:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
 

Kinomen, everyone's just pointing out that the way you have the class set makes it look like the Kain character from FF4. Since he came before FF9 that's why everyone is saying it's like him.
