DT's Saga of the Dragon Cult (Standing Stones)

Scrag attacks the lead berserker who had already been injured and kills her with a strong hack of his axe. Benny the celestial badger goes wild on the second berserker, slowing her down with savage scratches and snarling bites along her calf. This stops her long enough to growl and hack at Benny in return with a set of strange metal claws strapped to her arm, as she falls into a raging frenzy. She strikes the badger hard and it falls.

While the last is eyeing Roque...

Meanwhile, the wind seemed to die down right when Rosalia was about to strike, allowing enough of her noisily movement to reach the ear of the cleric. He dodges to the side so that her attack misses by inches, and swings a heavy mace against her unready side. As she prepares for the blow, she can see the cultist priest in front of her is a half-orc.

OOC: Scotley, How much are you Power Attacking? If the damage is 1d10+9, then shouldn't the attack roll be 6 less than normal? So it should be 1d20+4? Sorry, but I'm struggling with the math and not sure what I am missing.

[sblock=Power Attack]
You can make exceptionally deadly melee attacks by sacrificing accuracy for strength.

Prerequisites: Str 13, base attack bonus +1.

Benefit: You can choose to take a –1 penalty on all melee attack rolls and combat maneuver checks to gain a +2 bonus on all melee damage rolls. This bonus to damage is increased by half (+50%) if you are making an attack with a two-handed weapon, a one handed weapon using two hands, or a primary natural weapon that adds 1-1/2 times your Strength modifier on damage rolls. This bonus to damage is halved (–50%) if you are making an attack with an off-hand weapon or secondary natural weapon.

When your base attack bonus reaches +4, and every 4 points thereafter, the penalty increases by –1 and the bonus to damage increases by +2.

You must choose to use this feat before making an attack roll, and its effects last until your next turn. The bonus damage does not apply to touch attacks or effects that do not deal hit point damage.
See link in Dewar's post below.[/sblock]

OOC: Power attack and str bonus scale up to 150% with a two handed weapon. The amount of power attack is fixed based on bab. So at a bab of +5 power attack with a two handed weapon is -2 to hit and +6 to damage. Power attack of -3 for +3 damage. He gets +4 to hit and a +6 on damage as well from str. He's using a +1 magic weapon and weapon focus and weapon specialization for +2 to hit and +3 to damage. Then he gets a +2 to for flanking as well. So his attack bonus is +3 (down from +5 for bab due to power attack)+4 Str (of 18), +1 for weapon focus, +1 for the magic weapon +2 for flanking for a total of +11, (I think I missed the weapon focus when I rolled as I only did +10). Damage is +1 for the magic weapon, +2 for weapon specialization +6 for strength (+4 for an 18 x1.5 for the two-handed weapon) and +6 for the power attack (again +4 x1.5 for the two-handed weapon) +3 power attack so a total of +15 +12.

That's a +24 if he ever manages a crit!!!!

[sblock=ooc: scotley]I think you are going by pathfinder power attack. here is 3.5

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/feats.htm#powerAttack

basicly, - attack = + damage max of bab[/sblock]

OOC: Holy crap. I'm totally using the wrong rules. That certainly explains why the math wasn't working for you. Please disregard the last rather lengthy post which is completely flawed. Let's do power attack of -3 for +3 as the bonus to hit will be right that way. So using the rules for 3.5 the damage bonus should be +6 for Str, +3 for power attack, +2 for specialization and +1 magic so +12 not +15. So total damage of 21 not 24.
