Dunai Treefolk: Something stirring in the jungle

Expeditious Retreat / Haste ?

Then, you could make armors with magical bonusses that stacked if additional sliver armors where in the vicinity. Could be an interesting concept, to have armors that had area of effect abilities that could be transfered to other armors of the same type. hmmmm.... im pretty clever at times...

I doubt that anything short of a teleport would suffice, and even then, the slivers would be out for blood. When you combine that with the scrying powers of the Mnemonic sliver, well, let's just say, the only way to escape is to travel to another plane, permanently. :D

But I like the armor idea...

Clay: I would suggest they would be better of in crystalline sliver armors. or better yet, dragon armor, as dragons are more forgiving than slivers... (Gee, slivers are o.k. with a wizard experimenting on a protosliver, but as soon as an adventurerer kills and defiles a sliver, that adventurerer is marked for death.)
Also, what's wrong with the regular ranger class? :D

lol, I think the normal Ranger class is both underpowered and boring. I havent had a player who chose to play a Ranger yet, they simply arent worth it. I have removed the druid as a playable class, making some clerics more "druidy". Favoured enemy stinks, the spells are not worth it compared to the other spellcasting classes and their lack of feats make em loose to any well-meaning fighter. Sorry, I dont like the normal ranger class.

Hey, it's your campaign, but IMHo the core ranger is probably the best melee class, if you pick your feats right, and pick the proper favored enemy at level 1, you can have a dragon slayer when you really need it. (Gee +5 damage and +5 to hit that CR 24 Great Wyrm.) Not to mention the bonuses to two weapon fighting :D
And the druid just rocks! I mean, they get some of the best offensive and healing spells in the game. For instance the Druid gets Flame Strike two whole levels earlier than the cleric! Not to mention the ability to alter their shape to specific animals (the wolf and eagle seems to be player favourites.), getting early immunity to poisons, becomes ageless, gains resistances against the spell-like and supernatural abilities of fey, *And* becomes impossible to track!

But as I said, it's your campaign, I'm just venting my opinion :D

Later,

Well, I still think that that +5 Dam/Hit bonus is easily rectified by a fighter. His weapon specialisation gives +2 dam to all critters, his higher number of feats allows him to go after some of those damage increasing feats far easier than the Ranger, improved Critical just to mention one. A barbarians rage allows him to cause that extra damage, due to extra strength and it's more versatile than the rangers favoured enemy. After all, you might be able of getting that Great Wyrm out of the sky pretty fast, but you wont have any advantages towards the beholders, illithids and liches below. A paladins Holy Smite is actually more versatile, since it allows it to go after an entire alignment. Off course, not everyones campaign uses the good/evil axis, but 50% evil monsters is still to be expected.
As for the druid, Im not sure just how kewl Ageless is and I still believe that the cleric is superior in healing magic than the druid. And the fact that they get resistance to fey abilities and spells... hmmm, in my campaign.. the druids seldomly fight fey... Off course, the druid has a few more "damage" causing spells, but that wont allow him to come close to the cleric when it comes to "buffing" up.

Ah, but you forget that the favored enemy bonus also applies to skills... :D And still, two-weapon fighting bonuses is some good. Besides you get to choose an additional favored enemy every fifth level (I usually go Dragon, Giant, Outsider... when I play a ranger, although I must admit, I prefer to play wizards...).

As for the druid, you forget one minor detail: Animal Companions! :D

But alas, we all have our own favourites... :D
