My wife, who has made a couple of those Cthulhu critters they're offering, said that "Hobo the Delightful better enjoy making tons of those." I can't see how on Earth they're going to fulfill those orders.

EDIT: Wait, $100 for one?!?! Sheesh!

Don't like the team, the project, the direction? Just ignore it.

I think they've got a really good idea, and from what I've seen I think that with the funding and time they can do it. What I don't understand is in this, a very niche hobby, people are falling over themselves to lambast this with doom and gloom. They don't owe YOU anything. It's Wizards that pulled the plug on Dungeonscape, not them.

As for info, the Kickstarter page has plenty of info...

Not sure who you're directing that comment at, but being one of the person above your comments, I felt the need to defend myself real quick.

If you look back to my previous post on this thread, you'll see that I am one of the supporter of code name: Morningstar (page 15 or 16 of this post). I'm just annoyed at the way information is relayed to us a lot of the times, especially that story they posted once a week. The comment above is me merely pointing out my observation, and figure it was funny in a sarcastic kind of way.

Don't like my opinion, my observation, my though Just ignore it

And in response to the info on kickstarter, at the time of my posting and everyone before me, that information isn't exactly available.......

I just looked up and saw Roll20 made just about $40k, so I'm not quite sure what the chance is that these guys will make ten times that. Granted that was 2.5 years ago, and Kickstarter is more popular now, but it still seems like a really lofty goal.

Hi Guys--

Myself or Hobo are happy to answer any questions anyone has. People have already expressed a number of concerns–some of them real, some of them not. The honest answer is that we're interested in creating something awesome for tabletop gaming in general. Granted, we've made a few mistakes along the way–but if you know anything about software development, it's not a perfect science. We're going to do better next time.

Well this is typically how kickstarters work -- while the price for the product may ultimately be cheaper than it would be after kickstarting, the "perks" are by necessity far cheaper to produce than what people pay to get those levels. They aren't products that you're buying. After all, they're supposed to spur additional funding. They're cool little things that are fun to have for people who are interested. Anyway, at least you should only rate the price of the doll itself at $80, given that this is the bump from the same tier level without the doll. Well, that's about what a person donates to NPR for a coffee mug or a couple of tote bags, so it's not far off from what you'd expect for compensation. Also, she'll only have to enjoy making up to 50 of them, since that's the limit of the pledge level. So, it seems she's at least thought out how many she's willing to make and how much she feels the kickstarter should be compensated for her efforts.

I'm not sure I get this.

For $50 you get a program that does what exactly? Look up rules and displays modules? Why can't you just look them up in a PDF reader? Or in this case, one of the Pathfinder websites? (the unnofficial SRD is actually better)

And if you don't play Pathfinder, how does it support other games? Will you have to buy additional game rule modules, assuming the game you play gets support? Or will you have to enter it all in yourself?
