Here's the Changeling. I'll get his backstory down tomorrow. He's basically a spy for one of the houses, and works as a Bard. His Charlatan Identity is that of a foppish, half elven bard that people tend to dismiss because he's just flamboyant. The reality is that he has a heart of ice and has no qualms doing the dirty work for whoever it is he's working for.

Looks good. You still have a tool to choose, it looks like.

A few questions:

Where is Nix from?

What House did you want him working for? Any of the dragonmarked Houses could use spies, but Phiarlan and Thurrani are specialists in it. Roughly, Phiarlan's territory is west of the Mournland, and Thuranni is east. Phiarlan is known for the best spies, Thuranni has the best assassins. But both Houses do both.

At the moment, we are thinking of being a team working for a Finder's Guild connected to Housh Tharrask and led by Liutbrand Torrn (our ranger). How would you fit in there if working for another House? You aren't a House Agent background, so maybe your ties are looser than Torrn's.

I can work for House Tharrask. I didn't have a house in mind. Whatever house he's with, I imagined him as being found/raised in that house as a spy/informant who occasionally is used as an assassin, but his abilities will be more useful in the information gathering, talking his way out of things type of deal. Whatever fits him in with the party works for me.

I don't have much else for his backstory written. He doesn't know where he came from or how he was found, no idea about his parents or anything. He only knows the house he grew up in, and has a good bit of loyalty to them.

Okay, that's fine. Is he a normal bard that goes around entertaining? That is likely House Phiarlan or Thurrani. They control the entertainment economy (besides doing espionage and assassinations). Or he could just be licensed by them (for entertainment) and work for one of the other houses. Or he could be unlicensed, but that's going to make getting work as an entertainer more difficult, and pay less.

That's true. My Alternate Identity could be from one f the entertainment houses, complete with licensing and all the documentation and everything. He literally lived and trained and became a bard.

But in reality, he works for one of the other houses, doing spy work or whatnot. That's a great cover.

So did you want to be your own inquisitive agency run by Liutbrand Tornn, or do you want to work for one of the agencies listed in the book?
