As far as I can tell, the designers love a good debate! But, yeah, it appears that they decided that in the end, it wasn't worth worrying about. Ammo is ammo. I like the idea of explaining it with the story that most people who are proficient with the weapon are good enough with it to tinker either the weapon, the ammo, or both, well enough to make it work.

I would love for players to fluff all that stuff. It makes for a good read.

Still not sure how to augment your hand crossbow bolts to use them with a heavy crossbow of speed but would be a challenge worth rping.

I think for this game I am only waiting the ok to build a second boat, thus taking up the rest of the day.

It is not good to stay in one place long (unless it is a city you can get lost/hide in) as the drow are tracking your group.
