Ego Whip question

Am I right in thinking Ego Whip (psionic power) can be used repeatedly against the same target and stacks with itself?

In other words, you can reduce someone's charisma down to zero by using ego whip on them for several rounds.

Is this because it differs from (say) Ray of Enfeeblement in that it has a duration of instantaneous?

Ego Whip works this way because it deals Ability Damage. RoE inflicts a penalty {though it says 'damage' in the spell list section]

Ego Whip Telepathy [Mind-Affecting]
The target takes 1d4 points of Charisma damage, or half that amount (minimum 1 point) on a successful save. A target that fails its save is also dazed for 1 round.

Ray of Enfeeblement: Ray deals 1d6 +1 per two levels Str damage {WRONG].

Ray of Enfeeblement Necromancy
The subject takes a penalty to Strength equal to 1d6+1 per two caster levels (maximum 1d6+5). The subject’s Strength score cannot drop below 1.

Drawback is Ego Whip is save partial: so it takes a couple to get much effect (though Sorc/Wilders will feel it).

Ego whip is an awesome power. For the most part, anything you fight will either have Cha as a dumpstat and goes down like a chump, or it has loads of Cha and every point shaved off screws it over bigtime. Win-win!

The only real problem is the massive number of creatures immune to mind-affecting effects, but whaddaya want?

Ego whip is one of those powers that's in the 'mutual non-use proliferation agreement' in my D&D games....Don't ever use it on the DMs monsters unless you want the DMs monsters to use it against you.

Along with Disjunction, Black tentacles, and Psionic dispel, some things are just plain broken or obviously missed editing. You shouldnt make a habit of abusing the DMs monsters or he will just use the same tricks against your party. And your party will almost invariably suffer far worse than the NPCs do.
