I'm still in limbo.

My official order date is July 23rd and my current status is "On Order".

I did get my Book of Challenges a couple days ago though.

All this reminds me of that old business addage. "You can have it good, fast, or cheap. Pick two."

Yeah, and this deal is so cheap that I feel like I've chosen "cheap, cheap" as my two options. ;-) So I'm not expecting too much else. But, like I said, as long as it gets here before I get to 20th level, I'll be OK.

I finally gave up and cancelled my order. Went down to the FLGS and just bought it there, like I should have done in the first place. I should really just stick to the local store and the online companies I've dealt with before.

Yep, but a savings of $25 a book........the wait is just fine As long as it gets here before we get to 20th level. Even US postal surely can deliver a book within 9 months or so.

I ordered on the 22nd, and they said it shipped yesterday (August 1).

I don't really need the book urgently, especially since it's not that difficult to extrolate a working system even if you do need Epic levels.

I just got that message too They must have just got a bunch of the books in or something. I'm worried, though because I'm only in Redmond for the summer. I'm moving to Ohio on the 10th! I'm wondering if the book will get here by then if it shipped today, and I'm thinking that a week is definately not long enough. This is just going to lead to more trouble getting it forwarded and stuff Oh well, I can hope for a miracle

Here's the complete history of my ordeal:

July 23rd, placed order for 2 ELH for a grand total of $27.64.

On July 27th, I got the "Still Looking" e-mail.

On August 1st, I e-mailed Buy.com because I had not heard anything from them, and I had been sent to warehouse since I ordered.

That e-mail read as follows:

"What is the current status of my order? I have waited almost two weeks
for
something other than this. I have received word that other people are
receiving their order for the newest listing of this item. Why have I
not
seen anything from your end?"

I received a form reply today, August 2nd, saying "Blah blah blah, we apologize for your order taking longer than expected blah blah blah we update the site every 24 hours blah blah blah sit on your thumbs and wait"

I immediately e-mailed back with this:

"Don't give me the usual form letter. I have corresponded with people
who
have ordered this item at its usual price from you AFTER I ordered mine.

They received it a few days after they ordered it, while I am still waiting for my copies at a discounted price. I'm wondering why other people are getting their copies of the Epic Level Handbook at it's usual $27 when
they ordred it four days ago, when I ordered my two copies for $14 each
almost two weeks ago and they're still "Sent to Warehouse.""

A mere five hours later I received the "Order has shipped" notification.

Looks like a little griping paid off. I hate being like that.

Mine's on the way.
Ordered it the weekend before they raised the price and asked for it to be shipped second day. When they backordered it, I asked them to change it to the free shipping option, but they said "we give many options during shopping, but cannot change an item once it's processed."

So, I waited, what? two weeks? and now I'll get it sent second day...
It's still cheap though.

I ordered my Epic Level Handbook from buy.com on 7/21. I received my "Still Looking..." e-mail on 7/25. Today (8/1) I got my e-mail that it's on its way.

My copy finally arrived today (8/5). Now I can be more help designing defenses for our mountain fortress...

i received mine today. ordered on 7-22, delayed for a while, shipped late last week and arrived today.

for $14, well worth the wait.

Ordered the 22nd. Got a "ship" e-mail on 8/2. Hasn't arrived yet, but it should soon.
