Emerald Spire Superdungeon: Mona, Baur, Mentzer, Jacobs, Greenwood, Rein•Hagen, Etc.

All I want is the hardcopy of the emerald spire dungeon. I am not interested in the MMO whatsoever. How much would I need to pledge to get the hardcopy? Thanks.

From what I understood, you can only get the hardcover if you spend the extra $100. In order to do this, you need to at least put in $5. So to get it would cost you $105, plus the $15 s/h.

I'm planning on just getting the $15 pdf of the dungeon, assuming the Kickstarter is successful. As much as I want the actual book, I can't see myself spending that much money. I mean, $120 is too much for a 128 page book [and no, I don't care about the other printed stuff, so I am not adding that into my calculations]. Maybe if the kickstarter is hugely successful and the book is looking at closer to like 400 pages I might change my mind, but not until then...

Oh. Wow. Definitely not worth that kind of $ for me. For that kind of $ I would be pledging for the new Glorantha Guide...2 Hardcovers and a 96 p softcover for the same pledge

But we haven't started writing it yet. Given the premise, I'm curious what the good folks of EN World are interested in seeing in a product like this? Any mega-dungeon itches you've been eager to scratch?

Well, one thing that comes to mind - since these are being designed to work with Flip Mats it would be nice to design "additional areas" that could be fit on the the other side of those flip mats - perhaps a "home base" on the opposite side of Map 1, maybe a dungeon that rearranges itself on one of the other maps (same rooms, but different hallway configurations). Maybe even one map whose dungeon takes up both sides (and perhaps is a moebus strip)

As far as mega-dungeon itches - I wanna see a tesseract. Rather than have the twelve levels "fixed" one above the other, you can reach any one of the eleven other levels from any of the other levels. And perhaps you have to "switchback" between levels to retrieve the key(s) to the 12th level. Something like a much, much bigger and evil Labyrinth of Madness.

Erik, I'd like to see more 3d terrain....by that I mean, most megadungeon rooms are one level. I'd like to see more variation intra and inter room in elevations. Other than that, I'll have to give that some thought.

That's a great point. I really like including rooms with various elevations to keep combat interesting and three-dimensional. I'll make sure to suggest that the rest of the team look out for opportunities to do the same.

It's important to understand that the RPG Print Pack includes, at minimum, 6 Flip-Mats to help you run the dungeon with miniatures. I can understand not caring too much about a novel, but man, those Flip-Mats are going to be AWESOME.

I'm not saying they aren't awesome. I'm sure there are lots of people who love the flip mats and will use them. It's just that our group doesn't use them. We don't use flip mats, the map packs, dungeon tiles or anything like that. We use a projector and all our maps we get we either make on our own or find online. So for me, for my group, the flip mats are not a selling point. In fact, I don't really include them when I consider whether the book is worth the cost or not.

So yes, I apologize, I should have mentioned that you do get a little more than just the Superdungeon for that $120. It's just that for me, the only thing I consider in that group to be worth it is the adventure book itself.

You do get the flip mats AND you do get the deck of campaign cards and the novel for that price. For some people that will make this a better value. It all depends on whether you and your group are the type to benefit from it.

And I do want this to be successful, so again, I apologize for only giving part information. [If it's not successful, no Superdungeon!]

A million dollars.

That is just plain crazy. I really think things like this should be done the old fashioned way, by attracting investors and asking people to buy it once it is done.

It seems crazy to me too, but they got people to give them $300,000 for just a 'tech demo' so who knows? Anyway the $1 million is an enormous amount in the TTRPG industry but a very small proportion of what a MMORPG costs and is apparently just for bells & whistles.

Ahh...6 flipmats. That makes the price more in line. I dont run PF/would be converting it, and I do not use the pawns/minis anymore, so the value is just not there for me @ $120 even considering the mats.

Good luck to Paizo, and those who have pledged! :)

As mentioned by others it would be cool to have dungeon levels with 3d, multiple tiers, or linked dungeons. Not simply 12 dungeons stacked on top of each other.

And a memorable BBEG who inhabits the 3d terrain.
