Enemy Among Us (DM: Stringbean2142, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

[sblock=Neurotic]Two things: First, Shadow Walk triggers when you move at least three squares from where you started your turn, not when you move three squares. I'm going to put you in Q12. Second, where are you getting the extra +3 damage from? The only source I can think of is Atlas, but he only boosts Action Point attacks.[/sblock]

Most of the horde stumbles forward, greatly hindered by Catein's chains. One of the hounds closes with Bell, but doesn't connect.

The spectral creatures mostly remain where they are, although one of them drifts up to Veruzak's level. Again they lash out at the group, this time badly injuring Bell, and wounding Catein as well.

One of the men, struggling hard against his chains, drags himself over to Kendrick and bashes him with a cudgel. At this distance you can see that his skin is weathered and heavily tattooed, most likely marking him as a sailor of some sort.

[sblock=Status]Initiative:
Martelai (24/28, Concealed)
Hound 24 (-5, slowed)
Hound 81 (-8, dazed)
Seeker 26 (slowed)
Seeker 31 (-6, Cursed, slowed (save ends))
Seeker 72 (slowed (save ends))
Seeker 74
Horse (-41, bloodied, Quarried, Cursed, dazed)
Husk 17 (slowed (save ends))
Husk 28
Husk 39 (slowed (save ends))
Husk 52 (slowed (save ends))
Veruzak (20/20)
Kendrick (18/31, +2 AC)
Bell (4/25, bloodied)
Atlas (20/26)
Catein (14/27)

Hound 24 shifts to M7 and misses Bell. Hound 81 moves to K18.

Seeker 26 attacks Kendrick and misses. Seeker 31 floats 2 squares straight up and attacks Veruzak, only to miss. Seeker 72 crits Bell for 11, bloodying her. Seeker 74 attacks Catein and hits for 7 damage. Rolls.

Everyone else double moves, or just moves if they're a dazed horse. Or if they're Husk 39, who charges Kendrick and hits for 4 damage.

Some people make their saves, others fail. The results are above, the rolls are here. I forgot to remove the slowed token from the horse on the map.

Are you guys going for non-lethal damage against the non-seekers? I guess it will be covered in a case by case basis.[/sblock]

Sorry, my bad. I edited post above to reflect it. Horse gets three damage less (11)

As for shadow walk, if you're sure, OK. I'll re-read it later when I get home. Since you're the judge, I think re-reading will be pointless exercise, but it will teach me to read more carefuly next time.

As you can probably see, I'm new to 4e.

"Bell, come back to the group, you're too far out!"

They aren't "people".

Bell manages to dodge the hounds attack, but quickly feels the mental onslaught from the otherworldly creatures. How I am suppossed to save everyone if they keep attacking me!

Instinctively she whips her hands up over her head and the shadows surround her, swallowing her up. She appears from nowhere, next to Atlas, looking almost as etheral as that which they are fighting. No they are people. I must save them. Heroes would save them. Her own thoughts wash over her with new resolve.
She shifts quickly back, trying to focus on her hound assailant, but Veruzak's words keep ringing through her head.

"You. Are. So. WRONG!" She blasts her words at the hound, and though its clear that she hit, her words did not ring as true as she would have liked. I hope Veruzak didn't take the rest of that damage.

" Bell " Atlas yells " I'l be right there! " and strangely the statue puts away his sword and grabs a throwing hammer. Carefully aiming it at the hound he throws it as hard as he can but throws it to high and it flies harmlessly by. At the same time she disappears and is right next to him. Quite surprised by this, he just says " Never mind then " and he gives her quick clap on the shoulder " Was about to aid you little Lass, but it seems you can handle yourself "

Atlas is furious and he is not gonna leave Bell alone with the hound. Without a weapon drawn he bull rushes the mutt, sadly the hound is not to be moved
I wanted to use my action point to push away the dog from Bell, but it is not necessary any more, so I wanted to ask if I an withdraw my action and not have used my AP, since I didn't know that SR had teleported Bell during the time I wrote my actions.

The chain around one of the husks drags him down and strangles the "life" out of him. Catein backs wordlessly toward the cabin.

ooc: Sure, go ahead.

Kendrick jump back five feet, your in my blast area! Screams out Veruzak, mid-incantation.

[sblock=OOC]

I plan on dropping a area burst 2 on L13, could you have Kendrick shift back a square?

I just re-read few last posts and noticed something. whether it counts as movement I leave up to you:

seeker that is in Chains of Levistus moved up to be level with Veruzak. Would that trigger the effect?

Also, you didn't rule if ANY movement (push, pull, slide (but not shift)) or just MOVE ACTION of the affected creature triggers chains of levistus effect. I wrote about difference in text of Dire Radiance and this few posts back.

[sblock=ooc]The seeker's fine. Check it out:

Chains Timeline:

Round 1, Martelai's turn: Chains is cast.

Round 1, Seeker's turn: Seeker doesn't move.

Round 2, Martelai's turn: Chains wears off.

Round 2, Seeker's turn: Seeker float up 2 squares with impugnity.

Hmm, I thought I already posted that forced movement can trigger chains. In fact, I did, in between the two posts in which you asked me about it ;).[/sblock]

[sblock=DM ninja'd me]
Indeed I found it in #279. Post time few minutes before I posted #280. I never saw that post. Sorry.

And yes, he did move AFTER chains went out. My bad, should have paid more attention and move so I can attack him with cutting words, curse on the horse would wait.

I apologize, I'll try to pay more attention. Isn't there OOC thread for this kind of discussions? Will you open new thread for this adventure or it remains on StringBean name?
