Since no one mentioned this yet, how about the apparent lack of transporter technology the reptilians have in this episode? Why blast your way onto the enemy ship to get the girl, when--as one of the last ep's of the season showed--they have friggin' transporters?!?!?! I'm as ready as any viewer to suspend disbelief, but when you can't keep away contradictions like this in the span of what, a dozen episodes, how do you expect to keep us doggedly loyal viewers?

That's a tough one. They might have an Enterprise Bible that the writers and producers have compiled that accounts for some of these things, and maybe they either don't feel it requires explanation or through some editing quirk it wound up on the cutting room floor.

Perhaps the particular alloy used by Earth ships confounds the particular Xindi technology. I don't recall the transporter scene you're mentiong. Was it into the Enterprise?

*shrug* I don't know. I really never get that worked up about such things in television shows because I don't expect a whole lot from them.

On the other hand, killing a character off and having that character come back the next episode with no explanation whatsoever would drive me nuts.

Hi Mark. What took you so long? ;)

The transport that I'm referring to is when the reptilians took Hoshi off the bridge...could have been in "The Council." Anyway, I caught the tail end of "Rajiin" and instead of transporting her out of the brig, the reptilians forcibly boarded Enterprise and lost one of their own men in the process. That's what spurred my message. Wouldn't have even caught it if not for the repeat. Just irked me at the time.

I wonder if the brig has some extra protection that prevents transport. I suppose they could explain not using the same technology to protect the whole ship on the amount of energy such protection might require (if it is shield-like) or on the weight or expense (if it is a particular alloy). Might be a forerunner to shields that later get added as standard to prevent just such abductions. (I'm scrambling here, so throw me a bone, eh? ;))
