Hello everybody!

I've been wondering this for a while, please vote on the poll.
Is the majority of the EnWorld posters mostly dm's or players? or both?

I for instance only DM, I played when I started and I play ocasionally but my friends prefer to be players rather than dming (even though they've all tried it)

What about YOU?

I'm about 75 DM / 25 Player, but I hope this swings closer to 50/50 as the year draws to a close and my recent Eberron game ended.

Well, until about a year ago I was about 90% GM and 10% player ... I ran most of the games, and when I got a chance to play it was usually shorts or one-shots or campaigns that blew up after a handful of sessions. EDIT: From the moment I picked up my first RPG, as well. Just had always happened that I was the guy GMing things. So we've got 15 years or so of GMing stuff.

Moved, joined a new group. We've been doing the Age of Worms AP and I've been a player. I've run a single one-off session since then, and another guy in the group has called dibs on the next thing run, AND another guy has dibs on the next one-shot ... may be another year or more before I run anything. :(

I like playing, but I miss the big chair from time to time.

Thus I voted Other. Used to mostly GM ... now I mostly Play, dunno when or if I'll get back behind the screen.

Although I try to play as often as I DM, over the past 15 years I've ended up DMing more often than not.

I suspect that of all gamers out there, most of us on these boards are going to turn out to be frequent DMs if not uniquely DMs. My reasoning is that only those who truly love RPGs and who are devoted enough to them to DM frequently are going to be the type to seek out and frequent an online RPG forum. I believe the same can be said (in a general sense) for the primary market of RPG game books and PDFs.

I'm not coming down on players; I love em. What's a DM without players? But when it comes down to its often times the DMs who buy the most books and in large part drives the game industry, including online forums like ENworld. I could be wrong though...
