Actually physically and actively gaming? or frequenting gaming sites with sporatic games here and there wishing I could recapture that magic?

Either way, I started gaming in about 1981-ish. That would put me in the 25+ crowd.

I started in 1982 at the tender age of 8 with the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set. The Keep on the Borderlands, baby!!!

So most people on this website are probably 35+ ?

Hmm my AD&D-fu is weak but does that mean you're near a str dex con penalty and a int/wis bonus?

Good thing about internet forums is from the posts on these boards I would have never suspected this age spread :D

Dang, are you guys old! ;)
I play since 1999/2000! (I am actually a little fuzzy on which year it was! Some time around - but before - finishing school)

I started gaming late in elementary school which was 24 years ago when I played B2 "Keep on the Borderlands" using the Holmes D&D set.

And its a +1 Int, Wis, and Cha bonus. -1 to Str, Dex, and Con (and boy do I feel it somedays).

I started playing when I was 11 years old and in the 6th grade. It was during winter recess and we had no dice.
The Dm did come up with an inovative diceless system that I've yet to see any other diceless system match.
One of the funny memories i have of those games was a misunderstanding of what a "morning star" was. We had confused them with chinese throwing stars and were throwing them at every monster we came up against.
I got the Holmes boxed set with B2: The Keep on the Borderlands the following summer and never looked back.
I figured out what a morning star was quickly after that though.:D
