weve got a truthbender monklike mattrix dude from secrets does little dmg but can generate great save's and ac

and a doppelganger favorite soul/sorc dual class prestige spellshield archmage chosen of mystra

the game has lots of magic.

and we are starting in the temple of elemental evil

does anyone have nice suggestions for me to play?

im thinking paladin/ranger like warrior

Your description of the other characters seems to imply that the start point is not 1st level...or you are joining a ongoing campaign.

What is the start level / entry level?

Are there limitations on what splats / character options are allowed?

Other posters would need to know this to better formulate a response to lyou.

Generally speaking, it looks like your party is lacking a meleer who can dish out large quantities of damage.

You're probably going to want to go with a fighting class (though paladin and ranger may not be the best paths to massive damage output), with a two-handed weapon. Fighter gets a lot of feats that can help, though the ability to rage (through barbarian or otherwise) may also be useful.

reedittet base thread

first thread reeditted :)

sorry for the incomplete post

if you can give me a more detailed version of a melee heavy hitter
using all d20 books

perhaps disarming sundering and more less used tactics

i would be most pleased

Try Paladin 3 / Knight 5 / Ftr 2 then go Divine Crusader. High Sr, Con, and Cha. Emphasis on Cha. You're aiming for Divine Emissary, Legendary Dreadnaught, or Guardian Paramount.

I'm a big fan of 2-Handed weapons with Crusader, especially if you have a lot of starting stat points. Go Dwarf, stats would be 19 str, 12 dex, 20 con, 18 int, 10 wis, 6 cha.

Sundering is, in theory, a great tactic, and the rules for sundering make it pretty easy to break your opponent's weapons.

Unfortunately...

1) If your opponent has a *nice* weapon, and you sunder it, guess what? You just destroyed your party's loot. This often leads to your fellow party members not being big fans of sundering.

2) If you start sundering weapons, your DM may decide that it's fair game for him to do the same. When he starts making cheesed-out sundering NPCs, and all of you start losing your nice weapons, you may be very unhappy.

This, does have the benefit of increasing the churn of items and provides an excuse for the introduction of new ones.

Well you're doing epic and it's all good...so I suggest a Hulking Hurler build. Not necessarily the damage record builds, but within you're constraints a damage monster should still be possible.
