D&D 3.x Epic Destinies for 3.5

Are we still getting a true 4e Epic Destinies article this Friday...?

Given the fact that they had a 4e sidebar in the text, I rather expect they'll round off and call it the 4e Epic Destinies article.

Charge Item (Ex): At 21st level, you get the most out of your magic items. Once per day as a swift action, you can add one charge to an item that has charges or get an extra use out of an item that has a limited number of uses per day. If the item has multiple functions that have charges (such as a staff) or multiple functions that have a number of uses per day, you choose which one to increase or restore.
Now I know this was a 3e article but this is a question I have with 4e.

Someone mentioned sticking a regenerating troll in a pit and shooting it to keep combat alive and keep healing everyone. And this recharge thing is the same.

If you can use a minor action to do something, what would keep you or how would you rule to make sure it isn't used excessively?

Oh, and I'm guessing Eternal Hero.

I'm really hoping not because it's one of the previews I'm looking forward to the most...

Logan Bonner's challenge isn't much of one, in R & C the Eternal Champion ED was mentioned as being considered for the PHB.

Don't quite understand what you're talking about here. Can you explain?

You can use those abilities out of combat, so this does nothing?

Note the once per day under artifact the artifact lord power.

Not really sure what the troll thing your talking about is. Maybe your talking about using the priest power that grants temporary hit points over and over, but that doesn't heal nor does it stack (I don't think).

Ya know I was 1/4 the way in before I realized this was 3.5 material. I was thinking this was an amazing amount of crunch for a preview, and spell resistance is still in? And a 30 d6 damage attack??

Back to remedial reading comprehension for me.
