Epic Prestige question

Why can't a KotC take a level in something else? Where is the rule that says this?

It's the Paladin class that makes it impossible to go back to once he took a level of the Ranger... Unless kr is using FR deities, in which case the Paladin should be worshipping Tyr, who will allow his Paladins to multiclass.

Actually, here's what he said:

and he can no longer level his Ranger because he would then lose all benefits of being a Knight of the Chalice

There is nothing in KotC that would indicate you lose its benefits when becoming levelling in ranger. There's also nothing in the paladin class that prevents you from taking other classes, as he's already done with Ranger and KotC.

Ahhh... my bad...

Hey kr... is this really what you meant??

Suddenly, I can't find it either.

PHB, page 43, up right, paragraph begins with "Like a member of any other class, a paladin may be a multiclass character, but..."

It's true that nothing prevents you from taking another class, so long as you don't mind not being able to level your paladin ever again. If indeed the KotC doesn't have any special restrictions of it's own, then we won't have a problem.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out where that came from. My player pointed it out too me and we both looked into it. In fact, we talked about it again last night. I'm drawin' a blank now.

The game does indeed take place in the FRCS, however, the player in question is no longer in the good graces of Tyr. It wasn't anything serious. The character simply lost his faith in Tyr and has no desire to get it back.

Isn't that the gist of what I sid? :)

Either your confusion is wearing off on me, or my confusion is wearing off on you. Maybe its the Level Red air pollution index we've been at the last two days. :)

Or it could be that I got up this morning. I think this is one of those days. :)
